we can install stap 00b, that will act the same way as an advancer.

most mechanics won't know about this, you can get it from suzuki dealers or cng shops if you are lucky, buy don't get anything other than stap 00b for cultus

Stap 00b is factory fitted in my cultus. Mechanics have a habit of d'recting it.

look under the glove compartment, it will be a black box with a sticker that says PS and maybe also stap

liana is the car to get, you will feel stupid after buying a cultus. lekin if you are having trouble with baleno, then you will also have trouble with liana

i would suggest that you just test your car's ignition system, that is the only badnam thing i hear about baleno

i wish it was just ignition system problem but its engine is weak, eating oil, heating up, no AC or sound system but it gives superb mileage on CNG which is like 15-18km/kg in local

for my personal use i already have passo but i need another car for my driver after selling baleno so plz suggest it likewise

can any cultus owner help me? there is a solenoid near timing belt cover in my cultus but its wires are disconected , where its 2 electric wires going?

in margalla there is a blue grip for this, the solenoid is slightly different too, but the wires from the solenoid probably come from the black pipe on the left

I own a cultus 2001 model engine on petrol is almost fine but on cng its like mehran overtakes easily
I was thinking to get rid of this engine and get a g15 suzuki for my cultus is it a wise decision or keep stock one ?

whats the function of this solenolid?

it controls a valve, when the valve is closed, the vacuum pod does not get any vacuum.

when it is open, the vacuum pod gets vaccum and moves a lever.

to further add, this lever actually increase car idle rpm when you turn on head lights or when your radiator fan turns on. Both these cause increase in electrical load, thus increase in mechanical load offered by alternator and require rpm to be increased slightly

You can test its function by only turning on the parking lights. the vacuum pod engages.

I went from Sialkot to Lahore in backseat and drove back to Sialkot, a 2013(reg 2014) cultus today with 4500 km on clock, i've driven pre-face lift(funny word for a cultus, sarcasm actually) and i like them, but suzuki is really downgrading the quality day by day. some of the changes i experienced was.

1. Suzuki tried to shape rear seats like bucket in newer models but forgot about ergonomics, so it is really tiring, neither one can sit a lil laid back like older cultus, khyber nor upright like santro, wagon r so one is stuck in somewhere in the middle and thats really tiring like trying to sit on a chair with 3 legs, my left hip is still in pain.
2. again older seats of cultus and khyber resembled sofa style, by adding a good thick cover one could completely occupy them unlike new ones in which one cannot get near, rest their head on the door.
3. the silver painted plastics aren't the same anymore, they look like they are painted by dipping them in el-cheapo paint and just one coat, one can see the shade of the plastic under the paint.
4. plastic panels aren't properly aligned, both front and rear ashtrays are more than 15 degree off in their slots, some other plastic panels are like that too.
5. i liked the newer door sheets, they are more modern, silent.
6. overall the drive was silent(maybe because it was a newish car), car didn't make any noise(lot of road, air noise coming in though) on the potholes(older models dashes make scream a lot) but the parcel shelf jumped out of its hinges on the first pothole, i didn't bother to fix it.
7. at least the engine was good, not as responsive on low revs as i'd like but as Xulifqar bro pointed out, multi valve engines aren't that good at low revs(i don't like newer engines, u have to 2-300 higher than idle rpm just to move the car even a lil bit or it'll shut off, in my khyber i can do it just by quickly but smoothly engaging the clutch 2 or 3 times). on higher revs(1700+) the engine was a charm.
8. fuel economy was great, at the start of the journey the fuel gauge was at about 60%, really hard foot on the throttle but also up-shifting real quick. I went from Sialkot to Lahore via Aimanabad Road. expo center through motorway, sunfort hotel in liberty and back to Sialkot and still had 10% left. (stock tuned carby cultus would need 80-90% for same journey and still i won't be able to rev it that hard)
9. a/c was chill, only place where cooling wasn't good i think was rear floor, but what can u expect from 1980s tech.

can't comment on exterior as i couldn't observe it much, i don't like new style grill anyway.

wish suzuki to do something about them plastics, rear seats. and revise the price. it is still a good car for those concerned with running costs n durability(i'm not saying it is more durable than other cars of same category but keeping it in good nick would certainly be a lot cheaper).

A friend's mother used to have a 2000 model. It was the VXL trim and was petrol driven. I've had experience of travelling with her and trust me that car was way way better than what we are getting now. The finishing, the plastic quality, each and everything was excellent. It was bought brand new just after Khyber was discontinued and it was sold in around '08 when they moved abroad. The car was only driven around 30,000 km on its original tyres and even the bumpers were scratch less! I saw that car some 6 months back and the way the bumpers were hanging and the way the person was driving it, I felt real bad for that car.
Another friend had a 2001 model in LSB color shade and it was a lovely car. Now 2 of my friends own EFI ones, and trust me the quality check at PS is just pathetic. Engine is nothing that much extraordinary as per my opinion, however they seem to be much more responsive when revved at higher rpms.
I was having a picture of the ad when Cultus was launched in 2000 by PS, will share it Insha-Allah if I find it.
BTW Here is a picture of the ad in newspaper when the new version Cultus was launched. (With clear lens indicator and tachometer in the speedometer cluster)

You are warmly welcome on this thread Cultus & Khyber are two brands of same lamp, (same engine, same brakes, same suspension) Khyber is a very complete and finished car. best of luck for it in future also. We had Khyber for 6 years (1999-2005)and I have postive memories of that car in my mind.

Rear suspension is different, Cultus uses independent struts where as Khyber has torsion beam in the rear.
Brakes are also quite different when it comes to performance, While braking in Khyber one can easily feel that "more bite" where as Cultus lacks it.

This seems like the 1SZ-FE that came in the previous gen. Vitz.
It was an inline 4 cyl. engine. 1 KR-FE is 3 cyl.

was there a cultus SPORTS offered back in 2003-04 ? which had alloy rims, power steering, power windows and power locks?

Yes there was, however there were very few of them. If my memory serves me right then they had almost all the same features as in the VXL trim.
