Comparison of 1993 Mehran vs. 2015 Mehran

Dear Pakwheelers, recently I have had the privilege of buying a 2015 Mehran. However, one of my relatives bought in their 1993 Mehran and I was a bit surprised by how Different my car is to that car!

Pros of 1993 Mehran

1. Gear Lever is of better quality and gearbox is much smoother. Gear shifting in new Mehran entails fighting with the gearbox to go into 1st or 2nd Gear. This, I have noticed in driving 3 new model Mehrans. Older models have better gearbox since the shifting was about as effortless as it goes.
2. 4 AC Vents: In the new Mehran, the driver does not get enough AC Air. Older Mehran Models had 4 AC vents which led to better air circulation.
3. Brakes: I have always found Mehran brakes to be weak, but the 1993 model had much better braking than mine.
4. Cost: 1993 Mehran is available for 2-3 lacs.
5. Plastics Quality: Dashboard was much better built with better quality plastics.

Pros of 2015 Mehran:

1. Vehicle condition: All parts are newer so there is less headache of replacing parts.
2. EFI Engine: 16km/l instead of 15 in city. Marginally better engine performance and efficiency.
3. Subjectively better looks.

What is your opinion? if given the choice of buying an old model Mehran and newer model mehran (assuming you only want to buy Mehran) which would you choose?

I guess people have moved on from Mehran. For most of my other cars like WagonR and Cuore there was a wide variety of people that went out of the way to comment and take part in discussion such as @dayrider @ali454 @geek.maan @farasat @nfssaad and @omersiddiqui5482 But not in the case of this car. I want to know the reason why, specifically, you people are not interested. What are your opinions about my recent purchase? Was it a mistake, or is Mehran not a very interesting car? old mehran was always much better quality then new one.

best point of the new mehran is the efi engine.

your dashboard can be modified to have 4 vents.

for daily city cheap drive, mehran is still good.

The sole purpose big mehran was cheap as chips wheels... Na heck we love pakistan, the box costs 0.9 Mil used...

Older mehran with the slant dashboard (had speaker in it) was much better quality wise... The car was heavier too... Newer ones are more for the sake of a new car not a car to be kept for like 10 years..

EFI engine can be installed in the older models too... At least I would do that, make a sort of derelict, install dampers at the back and remove the leaf spring and have an efi engine...

Initially I had the same plan but my budget increased with time and I went with a new car.
You're right in the sense that it is a disposable car. I wouldn't give a car built this cheap after 10 years to even an enemy. While it is new, it is still good.

Hadn't come across the thread, nothing personal. Mehran is a very good car when one is on a budget.
As for old versus new, rather depends on if I want a car for enjoyment or utility, if enjoyment, then old, if utility, new.
As for the ac, I briefly owned a 2012 Mehran, the ac in that was unbelievably chilling, the only issue was that the ac would put quite a bit of load on the car
