Buy newest civic u can afford, esp for a first car why do you want to buy a dinosaur just to fulfil some childhood fetish.. I would even recommend getting a honda city instead.. But it's your money by all means buy the thing that makes you happy although that happiness is shortlived and then you have a liability on your hands and a dilemma to keep or sell.
personally, i wouldn't buy something that is unreliable or old, with time the metal turns to scrap, hoses and connections deteriorate and the good ole days are behind already.
Car is a commodity and should be treated as such, I made the mistake of not buying a mehran when i bought a 8 year old cultus, and had paid dearly with each passing month/year. Frequent repairs paired with unreliable mechanics you end up in a never ending of fixing the unfixable and that becomes your life.
