RAWALPINDI - At least 13 people, including women and children, were burnt alive when a bus carrying a wedding party caught fire near Sohawa, a town in Jhelum district, about 100km from Rawalpindi. The victims, all Christians, were returning to Rawalpindi after attending a wedding ceremony in Shakargarh in the wee hours on Monday.
The injured, more than 60 in number, were rushed to local hospitals, where doctors were trying their best to save their lives. According to rescue officials, the bus caught fire due to a mechanical fault that occurred during switchover from CNG to diesel.
Meanwhile, the victims were laid to rest amidst sobs and tears at a local graveyard later in the day. (13 wedding guests burnt alive | Pakistan | News | Newspaper | Daily | English | Online) "
Big vehicles, big engines, big tanks & BIG risk!!!
And buses have been converted to CNG just a few month ago, i.e. technology is new. In such a short time, it has claimed 13 lives.
& LOOK at trailor tractor (shown in ad), 12 CNG tanks over hot engine and a BIG one on side. Extreme heat (of engine) can cause the safety valves to leak, leading to fire. and if the frame break/melt, CNG tanks (not explode but) could become self-propelled missiles!!!
Well just leave it, Safety is of LEAST concern in Pakistan
