Hello guys, Need your Help i have 2007 corolla 2.0d saloon engine needs rings,valve E.t.c need to know options
1.Rebuild dont plan on selling as not getting good value
2.if i sell i am getting 700,000 , which is not good cant get car like this in that money
3.Swap with 3sfe,3sge or 3sgte or 2zrfe need to know mechanic in Karachi and price

Rebuild engine if you are happy with diesel.No need to swap it..And if u want swap then why with 3sge,3sfe.......swap it with 2nz,1nz,1zz or if u want some extraordinary swap it with 2zz.

rebuilding with maximum OEM parts is not very expensive.

Buying an engine be it diesel or petrol , from any scrapyard is high risk. there is no trace or history for any engine origin. also the engine number endorsement over the regn book also cause trouble.

rebuilding the stock engine is always easy with maximum OEM & Genuine parts, afterwards the engine can be maintained again for a longer period of time.

@capsat don`t need to spin only one wheel lsd gearbox might help 3sgte for traction can you make a rough guess how much will 4th gen 3sgte be

if it is available it will be engine only with ecu and cost over Rs. 200,000

in Nov 2017 we went to Shershah and a 3SGTE was there from Singapore asking price for engine & ECU only was 235000

3SGTE front wheel drive LSD will be a tough call it was for JDM Caldina AWD vehicle in Japan only don't know of any export variant

Sorry couldn't reply got busy... But today i dropped my ride at jameel autos for engine overhaul, you were right i ask around house and was told not to change engine anyhow for 2c complete engine overhaul he quoted me RS 85,000 anyway thank you for your and everyone advice.

good that you choose to rebuilt the engine. please note following points & insist upon the workshop to do as you are asking before they rig engine into the ride and start it.

1. thermostat valve is in the cooling system
2. coolant is used in radiator
3. cooling fans are running on auto
4. fuel filter is genuine brand new
   -
   note down the meter reading before you take the delivery of car after rebuild .

change engine oil & oil filter at 1500 kms

• afterwards make sure to change the engine oil every 5000 kms,
  please note there is difference between oil change & adding oil ( top up )

engine oil & oil filter are key elements for engine life, if you follow the maintenance it will be trouble free smoke less at light foot for another 150,000 kms of service

diesel engines have torque which give great momentum & acceleration

never expect - goli ki tarha nikalay - acceleration

over long run it can smoke any petrol driven vehicle of 2000 cc class.

2c worn out at 80k km on odo in a light weight corolla chasis.

2c complete engine overhaul he quoted me RS 85,000 anyway thank you for your and everyone advice.

does this amount include the labour - in year 2016 a 2c over haul with odo meter at 198000 stand alone the parts were for 73000 and labor paid was 20,000 that included the machinist, coolant and electrician charges.

i suggest spare few hours and take the guy along for parts procurement.,

after 2 years i think only the parts will cost over 80,000, please cross check there must be some mistake from the workshop make it straight & clear they must not get stuck for wrong digits and compromise on work & parts quality

he asked 15,000rs labor 65000 engine overhaul and 20,000- 25000 for pump/atomizer not including oil,filter coolant and electrical charges
