Well basically most people only use it when they're at a mall or someplace where there parking is huge and they can't find their car. The main reason for the panic button may be if you see some strangers trying to get in your car, you can press the panic button so they may disperse, sane is the case for when your in the car and someone may try to steal. But basically the most common use is the first one i told.
Another helpful tip:If you are the panic button and you can't hear your car, chances are it's out of range so the thing you should do is hold the key up to your head like you're about to shoot yourself and then while keeping it there press the panic button or put the key just under your mouth and press the panic button while keeping your mouth open. I know sounds silly but this can drastically help if you're far away from the car and want to lock it if it's out of range.

Just a querry provoked, how does this immobilizer key gets opened, there being no screws like in case of jdm vitz etc. So, how would one be able to get its cell (battery) replaced once it gets weak???
Pretty old but relevant. My keyless trunk opener not working with long press as well via the remote key nor is the panic button. Can anyone help in this regard?

Only Corolla Gli 2016 new key comes with factory trunk opener and panic button and immbomilizer.
Every thing else is china crap. Get it fixed.
Does that mean the 2015 did not come with trunk opener/panic button key? And this key is an after market one? Please shed light on this.
If that is to be the case then I guess the setup is not in place for trunk opener or the panic button. Is the setup a plug and play thing or will need buy more equipment?
