So after completing one EE90 restoration in Sept 2019 ( Those who know about it).

Finally got my hands on a Corolla 1989 model. I know that many people including myself love this specific model/shape. From last 2 months I was searching for a ride so thought why not go for a project car in this budget and spend the rest of the amount on getting the car into good condition. Long story short finally bought the car on Tuesday 30/July/2019 and consult with my mechanic and electrician on the work needed to be done. Here is another EE90 restoration. It's my cousin vehicle so thought to share it with you guys since he doesn't use pakwheels.

After that project me my cousin were searching for EE90 corolla for another restoration. This time on a slightly less budget.
So after 2-3 months searching and checking out 15-20 Corollas we decided on this one.

It's a 1987 model Corolla.
Bluish silver colour.
5afe 1500cc.
Manual transmission.
Swat registered.

Our first test drive.

Reason for selecting this car was the price. Almost 80% other same model vehicles were priced between 4-5lac. Cheapest one was around 3lacs but they were either 12v 2E or 2C diesel.
So the considering the engine prices for 16v which BTW is around 150k for whole setup it would have cost us too much.

So we settle on this one and bought it for 3.5 lacs on 6-7 July 2020.

Now about the actual condition of the vehicle.

Exterior
The body condition was not so good. Bonnet, roof and trunk was in original state although paint was fully faded. The doors were painted badly and full of filler.

Interior
Also in bad condition. Worn out seats, cracked dashboard and door panels.

Engine
Pretty messed up engine. It was on CNG so.
On petrol it was smoking blue like a mosquito spray. Worn out rings, piston, valves etc.

Body/chassis
Although the chassis was clean and non accident, rust was present in the trunk, tyre arches and floor typical for a 30 year old non maintained cars.

Now about the restoration.
Some are the Following things on the list
1. Complete denting
2. New paint
3. Complete engine rebuild
4. Interior rebuild
5. Suspension rebuild
6. Setting proper wiring

The aim is to not spend way more on this project keeping it under 5.5lacs.
So no new part are bought like doors, fenders bumpers etc.
Interior seats, dashboard and door cards will be repaired.

It's been 2 months since we bought it. Till now a lot of work has been done but I couldn't share.

88 corolla are available but by originally diesel you mean CE90?
Or just a 2c swapped one?

Although this car is in quite rough condition if we compare this one with yours before restoration.
With all this budget limitation, this is gonna be interesting project.

This is a pretty wild project considering the budget and amount of bodywork required.
So we are trying to restore as many little things as possible rather than replacing them.

So when we got the car on 6 July, next day it was dropped at workshop. Mechanic/electrician took out the complete engine and wiring.

It was shifted to denter on 10 july and denting was completed on 20 August.
Complete body was in bad condition.
All four Door and fenders dented, there was a lot of rust in whole trunk and some small pieces welded on the floor panels.
Both side footboards where changed.
Many different little things.

They won't do that, they want that modern touch to it. Especially given the details in this thread, it looks like an investment

Yes sir we are also more inclined towards that.
No extra mods will be done. Paint will also be the same.

We just want it to be like this one in pic below but bumpers, door molding/handles will be body colour.

We have also arrange the original 13 rims.

So about the interior instead of spending 40-50k on buying new we found a guy who rebuild the dashboard and door panels.

Paid him 8500 for all four cards and dash.
So considering the amount it's a pretty good job.

Current Project duration is around 2.5months including weekends and 10day Eid holiday.
Hopefully we can wind-up this project in 200k.

Bro did u resolve oil burning issue in ur corolla?

No sir I didn't.
It's still reducing 500ml after every 2500-3000km. Light blue smoke.
The valve seals are bad maybe rings also need to be changed.
But I am still thinking about it. I Don't trust any mechanic here so maybe will take it to isb for the job. Dmmotorsports or rehman autos if possible.
