Corolla GLi Direct Radiator Fan Issue. Help needed

Assalamoalikum PWheelers,
I recently bought a gli 2009 92k on the odo all in original condition but today I went to get a car alarm system installed and i asked him why is the fan direct make it auto, he said let me check he checked and said it is connected direct with relays I asked him to make it auto he said there must be a problem thats why the previous owner made it direct, he then hooked up a scanner and scanned for codes but all was good and there was no error code, i asked him now make it direct he said bring your car tomorrow morning and take it back in the evening because the process is long to make the fan auto he said '' computer nikalna parega uske sath thermostat wghera ki setting karni hogi takay fan auto hjye' i asked for price he said 2000 and that is too much to be honest for making fan direct. please tell me what should i do.

Corolla has a switch beside the radiator with a heatsink on it. Those are automatic fan relays. If that switch is faulty than yes it costs around 2000rs used. And with that also thermostat valve needs to be checked if its installed or removed.
You should do these:
1. Have it connected via original automatic switch.
2. Have thermostat valve installed if not already installed.
3. Have ur radiator flushed and filled in with toyota coolant.

Nah! bhai he is ripping u off... My car is maintained from an Ex-Honda Mech... My car was running on WATER... Due to increasing temp i thought i should pour the radiator with coolant (Car was heating up in TRAFFIC JAMS)... He took out the radiator... Send the radiator for complete service... Checked the condition of the T VALVE (THERMOSTAT) it was all rusty and choked up (REASON OF OVER HEATING)... T VALVE got replaced for around 1200 rs... The upper radiator hoses were swelled up so they were also changed 1200 rs for both... Honda Type 2 coolant was used (5.6k rs)... every thing was putted back together and done... Car is not not heating up bla bla bla... My point is change ur mech he is ripping u off let me tell the steps involved in this process....
1. Taking Radiator apart
2. Checking T Valve (Must change if rusty)
3. Inspection of radiator hoses (Must change if swelled)
4. Sending Radiator for service (Make sure your radiator wala has good reputation)
5. With a good pressure again cleaning the RADIATOR (AFTER SERVICE)
6. Putting/ replacing every thing back together
7. Pour in the coolant
8. make sure there is no leak
9. Check when fan kicks in (If fans are AUTO)
10. Voila (kaam ho gaya ab chill karo)

If the fan is direct...
If the fan is direct then there is no rocket science involved in it to making it auto again... Just some wires etc... IDK what ur mech is up to .-.

corolla radiator fan is controlled by Ecu and Ac controller.
There is colling fan Ecu attached to the radiator it has total of five wires i-e three wire socket and a two wire socket.
In three wire socket the two thick wires are positive and negative wires suppliying power to the radiator fan and to the cooling fan ecu. the third wire i-e the thinnest wire is the ground signal wire that provides signal to the colling fan ecu so that it can start.. as the fan is two speed it also controls the fan speed.
This signal wire recieves signal from Ecu and Ac controller. so electrician now need to repair the signal wire from where it is broken or he needs to take the ecu out to rewire the signal wire
Their is a possibility that ur cooling fan ecu might be faulty. The electrician will diagnose where the actual fault lies.

That thin wire from the centre is going to the fusebox.

This wire seems to be messed up by the previous owner this wire is originally placed inside the black harness with the rest of two wires going to the cooling ecu.

I suggest u to remove the tape on the socket that is going to the cooling fan ecu. there is a possibility that the original thin red colour wire had been cutt off and it is connected to the wire black thin wire u just saw.
If thats the case i will suggest you to reattach the red thin wire to the original red thin wire in the harness..

cooling fan ECU ?? wow damn me this must be a NEW ECU version developed in Pakistan for Toyota.

Radiator cooling fan is activated by a RELAY in the main fuse box, the Relay get pulse signal from Thermo Switch which is rigged directly at the coolant return flange ( the temperatue guage sensor )

ECU in PKDM Toyota if locally developed for controlling the Radiator fan, i need to start my montessori again in 2020

The relay becomes active as soon as the ignition is turned on. further if u look closely on the radiator there is thing which has heat shrink attached to it this thing controls the radiator fan through ecu signals.
One should do a proper research before criticizing somone.

That metal "THING" is a Capacitor of value 440 V 0.2microfarad which kicks up speed of radiator fan twice the regular speed when AC is Turned ON. -

Under normal AC running 2 fans are functional, The radiator fan goes further HIGH when Thermistor at coolant flang detects rise in coolant temp. That triggers the relay and Radiator fan goes high for 75 seconds.

Please cross check your facts when such car is close by and working

The only difference between this and the pkdm is that the pkdm has only one cooling fan. Now iam done from my side. If u are still not satisfied plz go and check the latest corolla and its working of its radiator fan
Iam saying all this because i own a corolla and had tested the working of its radiator fan and also this diagram proves my words.

i humbly suggest look for DENSO Part no.499300-3341 and read the description of item, instead of being annoyed and angry
