Corolla Grande 2016 - Pre FL - Maintenance Ideas

Hello everyone, first time posting on PakWheels and first time owning a car completely

Alhumdulillah, I am finally an owner of a Corolla Grande. The car was used and driven around 71k kilometers and is overall in a very functional state. However, it has no maintenance record and inquiring with dealership has suggested that the car has never been to a Toyota dealership.

At this point in time, the basic maintenance quoted to me by Toyota Central was around 20k which includes filter change and oil change as well. Do you think its a good idea to start visiting a dealership or should I get a basic inspection done by the dealership and visit a general mechanic and get all the issues sorted (since at this point the warranty would be void).

Another add-on inquiry is that the car's AC system seems to be failing to perform during the hot afternoons but performs appropriately at night and early morning when the climate is relatively cooler. Should I get a quote for the AC from the dealership or is it advisable to visit someone else?

You can have it done from any one... dealership is expensive... and make sure you use correct engine oil...

All the genuine parts u can get from auto one plaza
For all the oils u can contact mm lube oil
For ac service please go for japan car ac kurta gali
Or sanden car ac shahrah e quaideen
For general tuning and other works please visit any reputable workshop not an ustaad as its a grande not a 86 corolla
Get ur spark plugs inspected go for cleaning or replacement japanese plug of denso available in market
Fuel filter immediate replace it
Transmission oil replace it along with filter( cvtfe)
Engine oil 5w30 ac air and oil filter will need replacement
Check the coolant and brake oil level maybe top up needed
Throttle body catalytic cleaning fuel injector cleaning needed
Alignment and balancing u can check your self after all this u are set to go another 50-70k km tension free

Thank you brother for the indepth response. Since Ramzan is coming up and my paycheck might get a compromise, I'll just prioritise the checklist in a stepwise fashion.
Really appreciate you guiding for all the places I should source my parts from.
Will share a priority checklist as soon as I can. Would appreciate if you could review that as well

Any good brand, fully synthetic 0w20, 5w20, 5w30
In case car is consuming oil, just top it up

What company is recommended? The ones Toyota dealerships sell?

Use any brand oil Zic, Shell, Total, Kixx, Caltex / Havoline, or even PSO, just make sure that oil is 100% authentic...

What about sabir and bashir ?

both have become SETH and no longer work themselves. Utter non-sense prevail at their workshops.

Sabir shop charged 68000 for Prado HVAC work after Gawader trip in Aug 2021, since then she visited 4 times and problem was not solved. Had to visit personally got 100% refund also kicked on his balls.
Got her fixed from Umair in Feb 2022. Total charge 28000, and she is all GOOD.

Known issue in sensor type ac compressor. Only solution is to replace this compressor.

Since you don't have maintenance history

1. Get the general inspection done, state of air filter, brake pads, cabin air filter, replace if required also if any after market modification is done HID or any interior lights etc, get its wiring inspected

2. Change CVT gear oil

3. If cabin filter is in good state, start with basics on A/C, e.g. it might be low on gas or overcharged,

If compressor has issues then replacement is the only option as repair doesn't work out well on sensor type compressors.

1. Rest enjoy ur ride with regular basic maintenance schedule, and keep eyes and ears on any changes.

Okay so brothers @capsat and @helper_learner , my paycheck is here and I am finally planning to take the initial leap. However my friends are advising against taking the car to any mechanic and are telling me to consider Toyota Central for inspection and these issues. Since I have no experience in this department, I was curious whether dealership is the more reliable experience of the two..

And I read the detailed post about CVT transmission fluid changing by Dr Sahab and based on what I understood from it, I have to empty the initial CVT oil and then do three fill-drain cycles of the CVT oil.. that means .. using fresh CVT oil to cleanse the transmission and then dumping it.. correct?
(Reconfirming this because I felt that was a wastage of perfectly good CVT oil)

You can have all the work done from anywhere... good fi you get it done from specified places....

Secondly for CVT oil i will suggest if you can manage get it done form dealership as they will fill with proper method....

And wait for @capsat 's reply... may be Irshad is also following proper method so you will directly get it done from him....

I inquired with Irshad who was recommended by my kind brother but unfortunately when I asked him how much CVT oil I would need, his response was one can.. I asked him that wont he need to flush and drain it thrice (my understanding was at least two cans of fluid) to which he replied in the negative.. so I'm a bit skeptical from the outset.

Mostly people will not flush CVT... even i believe dealership will not flush it as it make the process lengthy and i also think it is ok if there is some old oil left... next time you change it change it a bit before then specified time or kms....

What is important is,

"Law of replacing CVT oil" by me,

"Temperature and amount of fluid drained must be equal to the new fluid filled, specified that the temperature is kept constant"
