Secondly for CVT oil i will suggest if you can manage get it done form dealership as they will fill with proper method....

Dealership don't follow any oem method in regards to cvt. They will open pan and without measuring the drained quantity they will fill preset quantity of oil. Later on, you will get either an underfill or overfill oil.

For op, whatsoever you do whether dealership or mechanic from outside make sure that you will measure oil and fill back the same quantity with just 100ml more then the drained quantity.

Mostly people will not flush CVT... even i believe dealership will not flush it as it make the process lengthy and i also think it is ok if there is some old oil left... next time you change it change it a bit before then specified time or kms....

55k kms or 2 years are drain intervals.
You cannot replace complete cvt oil.
Total capacity is 7.5L. I changed cvt filter, and kept filter/sump opened for 6 hours. Even that drained 5.5L of oil. I lfitted everything back with new gaskets later on. Filled up oil and opened drain bolt and inner tube which took out 2.2L. i did this procedure 2 times then. So, in total I used almost 9L of cvt fe oil. I did this procedure at high mileage at 140000kms.

Cvt oil that comes out after opening drain nut and filler tube is 1.8-2.2L.
Anything less then that means cvt was underfilled. If that happens then fill back 2.0L.
Easy procedure is open drain nut, measure quantity and fill back 100ml more then drained quantity.
Do this procedure twice. You need two Toyota cvtfe oil boxes for it which you can get from hamza younus autos Saddar Rawalpindi.

They don't. Everytime they give car with at least 500ml underfilled cvt oil. After 3rd cvt oil change, gear goes haywire when a car is at mileage of 160k kms. Now the underfill level is around 1.5-2L, the only answer by dealership is Sir cvt ki life hi itni hai. I have seen such case by myself. Guy was mantaining car completely from dealership, at 170k kms he went for 3rd cvt oil change, after few days gear was completely gone.
Disclaimer: Used transmission from junk costs 120k rs at the moment.

Hello everyone,

I thank you all for the comments, tips and suggestions that you gave. Unfortunately, on the first of Ramzan, I had a major car accident involving the same Corolla (I'll see if I can add pictures to the thread). Fortunately, I escaped unscathed and there was no collision with any other person.

However, the car is in quite bad shape. The Transmission, headlights, doors, rear wheel balancing rod etc has been quite badly shot. I thank you all for your guidance though and request you all to pray that I get the strength to restore the car in working condition again.

I wanted to post this update for so long but its quite heartbreaking to put into words how terrible it feels to lose your car. Hoping everyone had a safe and blissful Ramzan.

Better if you sell this car in same condition. Otherwise the cost of repairing a totaled car would be too high, and it won't be the same as before. You will get many buyers for it.

The car is currently situated at my dad's friend's workshop who stated that he will start work on it after Ramzan. So I don't have an exact accurate expense count. However based on the estimate that he has given, the expense would be around 550 to 600k.

The estimate was based around this rough cost:
Front bumper and lights: 100k
Doors: 40k/each 2 doors
Bonnet: 40k
Transmission: ~100k
Rear rod: said repair is around 10k and if I get a new one its around 80k
Fuse box and battery was shot too. Unsure about radiator and engine damage since he hasn't opened it up significantly but he thinks it will be fine.
Body shower was also recommended.

As for how the car lost control, I still didn't quite understand..
It was around 10am in the morning, I was conscious and alert. Driving at speed of around 60 to 80 kmh, the road had an incoming bend so I softly applied brakes so that the car slows down sufficiently around the turn. The application of brakes skidded the car uncontrollably to the left. When I tried to regain control, it skidded to the right. After three slips, the car rotated a 180 degrees and struck the grills that are placed bw road dividers. I'm unsure whether the road had any liquid spill etc but I highly doubt it. The brakes were inspected post accident and weren't faulty. Three of my tyres are completely done for and one rim suffered a crack as well.. maybe it was the tires. I'm really not sure.

Thank you. I tried getting a quote from various people but it was quite low. I tried getting various Mechanic's opinions as well. All of them think that the car will be repaired to as before specifications considering that the chassis is completely intact. I'm unsure how having a new transmission would affect the performance but I'm hoping for the best. Its a leap of faith at this point as my heart isn't yet ready to accept selling it off. I'm praying by some miracle it gets salvaged completely.

Maybe they'll be able to help you out. No one can do proper transmission oil change like them in Lahore. They're equal or better then dealerships at least.
You can fit a used transmission, but try changing all other parts with new ones.

Wrong and poor perception regarding repairs. It’s not the that didn’t get well repaired it’s we who want to get our major accident car to be do done cheaply. Kindly don’t blame repairs or shop only blame yourself for choosing cheap options. Mu uncle’s car met an horrible accident on his altis 2018 car did 2 rolls went into fields from highway. Luckily he got minor injuries and we got his car repair from trusted workshop my uncle paid their demanding money but uncle made a commitment of quality repairs and workshop guaranteed us of repairs. In 2018 we paid 8.5 lacs on repairs e.g doors bonnet trunk and roof bumper etc.
So after repairs we took car to test drive and to our surprise car was feeling as good as it was before No body rolls no vibrations no any abnormalities.
All this was done because my uncle couldn’t afford to get new car again.

Yes there is a very very minor impact on the bottom of B pillar, rest everything is intact. I'll get in touch with them but I doubt they'd accomodate someone all the way in Karachi. Never hurts to ask though.
