I have corolla x 1.5, i am having gear issue for some time, the problem is that it does not shift to high gears , for example, when you are at 30 km speed, it makes a gear shift, then another gear shift normmlly happens at about 80km speed, but it does not. I have to keep speed at 60 km or else it will rev high only and not shift the hgh gear, which may damage engine and gear more.
After driving about half an hour or more, the gear shifting becomes normal and higher gears starts working. i dont know why it takes 30 to 50 mins, last winters this did not happen.
i took to efi electrician, he checked with scanner, and said no errors in gear, everything is ok, then i took to gear mechaninc, he did service, changed all oil, and said that the filter in wall body is damaged and he changed it, but the issue is again same.
now, the mechanic said that he did some fix to some wire in the gear which changes the gear and it should be ok, on the first drive the gears were ok, but now again the issue is same, whenever you start the car, it takes 30 mins or more before higher gear shift happen.
this is bad as i can not speed up car for about an hour and it may damage. Now the mechanic is saying change your gear.
Need some advise from experts. as what is the cause. my radiator and condensor fans are both direct with double fans, could it be the reason. but in last winters this did not happen.
