Kixx or zic or caltex? I will not go shell this time
which oil you are currently pouring in it. does it reduce oilKixx and zic are fine brands
20w50 and alhamdolillah not yet reduced.
means there's no leak. 10w40 wont be doing any problem them. go for it
ThanksMy mechanic (great guy) created a formula to buy 10w40 3litre bottle and half liter of 20w50 and pour this mixture.. I don't know how it works.
Wont harm the engine if api are same
10w50 would be a good choice as it covers both cool and hot conditions.
@luckycar Very Dangerous, Not recommended to intermix two diff. specs. It must have ruined molecular stricture of both & make them more viscous
OK which brand?
Please suggestZic m 15w40 api sjZic a 10w40 api snCaltex havoline 10w40 api sj
If you read the thread above you will see recommendation of api sg - sj so Zic a is out of question. Don't know if zic m is synthetic and hence missing required zddp amount so havoline seems safe and fine or sgo premium.
What abt shell
Dear AllMjhey SG ya SJ ki story simply samjhadain takkay future me asani ho insha allah. Caltex Havoline Api SG 20w50 ( black color ka gallon 4 litre )theek he cultus 2006 112k km done.Thnx a lot.
If car is not reducing oil and engine is in good shape then 10w40 is good choice as your car is equipped with hydraulic lifters else 20w50 is also ok. Some people use 10w40 in winter and 20w50 in summer.
caltex 10w40 api sj
20w50 is not okay. better fix cause of oil leak than using 20w50.
Yes its ok ... search PW for Xulfiqar's comment where he said for old engines its ok to use 20w50 in summer :)... but yes in winters 10w40 should be used.
No broSimple : bs ap ye dekhen API SG ya SJ likha ho box/can parextended : only these standards (SG/SJ) has sufficient amount of zddp required by Suzuki G10 engines. i-e 1500ppm. Else engine wear out sooner than regular interval.
I wont question his expertise, he is most senior person.IMO opinion its better to fix leak than using thicker oil.
Recently I left a civic deal because ex owner was pouring 20w50
There is no leak alhamdolillah
