You still haven't made it clear if the choke is working or not.
I'm assuming you're using the proper cold-start method for petrol:
1- press accelerator slightly (about 10-20%)
2- keeping the accelerator pressed to the same level, start the car
3- as soon as the engine "catches on", release the accelerator
The RPM should be between 1500-2000 at this point, rising slightly over the next few minutes. After driving for 2-3 kilometers 'pump' the accelerator (quickly stomp and release) once; the RPM will settle at the proper level, which is 800-900 for this car.
If the car does not idle at 1500-2000 on cold start, and does not settle to <1000 after one pump, then the choke is not working. Get it fixed.
