keep on driving and replace the faulty parts you installed slowly as your pocket/schedule allows. Wont be too hard.

But find someone who is worth paying and stick to that. e.g. The suspension repair shop in khi Abdul hameed - drive from Saeed Manzil to North Nazimabad to get their cars' A/C repaired. For one simple reason.

I am not able to comprehend STP on a CV joint. Some stupid mechanics do pour it in gear buxa but CV joint.

I insist you check out MK autos just opposite Lucky One Mall. just give them a visit let them check your car' suspension. I personally am maintaining all my cars from there. At latest I got all the rubber bushes, axel and steering boots and the front hub bearings for my Lancer changed from there and the Power steering lines, took 2 - 3 hours for all the work costed me 2500 for the labour all four wheels. And I had to buy parts myself..

That's Excellent! Bohot ache paison mein hogya kaam. I've seen these axle shops, they seem legit. I have my eyes on your suggested mechanic. Let's see how everything turns out, nowadays I am busy with some household worn.

The best thing is they save you real time if you have work on two wheels each side they employ two technicians on each wheel and one supervises. That saves a hell lot of time. I never have spent more than 3 hours with my car at there shop. They have their own machines and equipment they also make engine mounts or bushes them selves if not available they have a specified shop for this.

Similarly there is a shop on preddy street I guess Abdul hameed and sons they also do great work go my Khyber done from there as it is near to my office. But quite far away from home so I stick with MK Autos.

The thing is I usually take our cars to them on sunday mornings like 10am and sit there my self. As I intend to know what are they doing.

Took the car to the suspension Wala today. At door 11 I was at the shop. And at 5:30 was back home. Had all the boots, bushes, nuts changed. Also one of the Kainchi as they call was bought new kabli for Rs. 1300. The total for all the suspeny work was RS. 4750, even installed the power steering setup but the pump then gave out and I will have to buy that one new... Also changed the front wheel bearings 4 of them costed RS. 2800. Foundations were changed for RS. 1050. Also installed an altered…

That's awesome @omersiddiqui5482 bhai, in my case stupid 10-12 year old kids do half the work, no matter which mechanic I go to. And these kids, uff Allah they don't listen at all to my directions. I often have to complain to their ustaad to get them in line.

Went on a long drive in my little jahaz and the OEM bushings are working their magic. The steering wobble is 0% now and steering wheel is firmer than ever (it's trying it's best to convince me not to sell it).

Btw excellent work, how long ago was this done, how is it holding up, and where did you source spare parts from?

As far as I remember this was most probably done in Dec last year. 6 months almost I have no issues... I replaced all the rubber in the suspension since my car was standing for 2 years and all the rubber had dried out, the front hub bearings were so jammed that the far was dragging itself.

I got all the rubber parts before hand from Plaza since Mitsubishi parts (quality) is not available in the area, had to source the kainchi from Shafique Mor since mine was not safe repairable but not safe, and one of the bushing was not available so the Shop Owner arranged it to be made.

It is holding up pretty good. But the car is driven with care usually on Shahrah e Faisal..

Even the undersheilds are holding up very good no lose screws..

@muhammad.irtiza darling just get yourself some good coolant and collect a bucket of AC condensation water from your household Split Unit (make sure not dirty) and fill up ur car.

Drive it for a while and you will notice if it is ohk or not. Remember no reduction in the coolant levels and oil residue.

I wanted to ask whether automatic transmission fluid evaporates? Because the mechanic spilled some on the transmission on Thursday while working on the axle but shouldn't it have evaporated by now? Why do I think that the ATF is leaking?

Fluid doesn't evaporate, you have to clean it. Jazbati honay say cheezain Hal nai hoti. Go to him, let him diagnose the issue, post everything here before he attempts another job, and get it done for free.

Oh wow. Another head gasket leak. This time I'm thinking he didn't even fit a new gasket, he just sealed it with gasket sealer.

As you can see by the water I drained from the radiator, the rainbow pattern on top indocates oil leaking into radiator.

You can also see how the bubbles are sprouting in the radiator cap area.

man .. if I were you, I would once go back and ask him -- you blew my head gasket (3rd time?), why should I not blow your head off?

Please do take your car to someone good, honest and with reference. Even if it means that you have to spend 10-15K one time.

In other news, I washed and cleaned my radiator, straightened out bent fins with a tweezer & filer -- things are all good now the following picture is taken ~2:00PM today in today's 33*C bright sunny day with AC on.

@muhammad.irtiza dear @dayrider is absolutely right if I would have been in your place I literally would have kicked his behind by NOW. I mean seriously WTF the guy could not replace a Gasket. Here the problem is not your car it is the person you are maintaining it from. go to him Ask that idiot what the hell is the boiling water in a car that has a newly replaced gasket and what the hell is Oil residue in the cooling system. ask him t fix this. i think if the gasket is not the issue there is air in the system and the residue if from the last gasket blow which has not been flushed if this is so which i hope it is.

Also, no Transmission Fluid will not evaporate as the car heats up it will start smelling burnt and you will see smoke. better clean it with some carburetor spray.

my wife gets extremely annoyed if i buy more tools, or spend time on the car on weekends,

weekend is the only time i get for working on the car.

this week end job was replacing the tappet cover seal, and applying some silicone to the distributor cap as water used to get into it.

i had gotten new seals almost 2 months ago, and recently got permatex high temp sealant, so was itching to get the work done, engine was covered with oil and grime.

when undoing the tappet cover bolts, one of the bolts snapped of
tried fiddling with drilling and using a thread extractor, but space too less. so made it worse. for the time being i just used an extra glob of sealant.

tried undoing the power steering pump main pulley. as it was also leaking, still not successful. really want to get an impact wrench

Working on cars is technically and by no means an easy task. Yesterday while doing this radiator flush I almost burnt my hands even though I was wearing gloves and the car wasn't very hot. No wonder the mechanics in Western countries cost so much.

Man ..! I hope you are safe. Seems like something didn't cool down to a reasonable temperature. I recently serviced the radiator myself with no gloves just because I left the car to cool overnight and started after sehri. ..

Also, I've a new situation here .. This cuore gets really needy sometimes @muhammad.irtiza ...

it appears that the vent control are partially broken since they are made of awesome quality plastic I'm unable to direct the air towards the wind screen and even when the direction is at face, I can feel a little air leaking on the feet side.

if anyone can throw some suggestions here, if i can get those vent controls from somewhere? or I've to (not so willing) invest in a complete kabli blower unit (with controls)

Can be just a lose pipe or some major plastic component. it is rather better to check where it is leaking from first and diagnose the problem.

yup inspected, those plastic tiny off-whitish colored levers that control the opening or closing of vents are the culprit here. One of the lever, that directs air towards windscreen is broken .. along with few little gaps b/w the joints of the plastic pipes and main blower unit.
