LM47 is available at Auto Pharmacy They Charge a bit more but still. it is also available at other shops as well.

for the VW grease it was available inside the market magazine Lane Area.

And if you are going there buy yourself Colonite 845 for your wagon R costs about 3000 but worth it.

The cosmic wax works well on the WagonR, it shines like anything when I clean it, problem is that it collects dirt very soon. But I have piece of mind with it of UV protection and it did protect the paint when a bolan scratched the car from behind; the paint was unharmed despite the loud impact.

WagonR has been having lights problem; I asked around on Pakwheels but did not get any response. The left side brake and headlights work randomly, sometimes they do and sometimes they do not. I have seen this problem in around 30-40% of WagonR on road

Cosmic is good too if you are satisfied something better is a brand called Kangaroo Indonesian Made in the same price bracket i guess 650-700. the thing is with cosmic you have to polish the car twice a month. but with 845 one in every 3-4 months... Inshallah Inshallah bhai.....

So, a visit to the infamous plaza auto market was done. Asked around for CV joints, CV joint greases, and Side mirror/AC knob.

AC knob rs.50
Side Mirror (Left) rs.350

CV joint options:
1. Chinese Pair rs.2500
2. Chinese good quality pair rs.4800
3. NKN Japenese pair rs.8000

As you might have realized, I am drooling over the third option... It's OEM replacement part for JDM Mira L200 Turbo, which came with 13 inch wheels. Will have to talk budget at home though.

CV Joint Grease Options (400g cartridge):
1. German Grease Rs.630
2. Mobil Grease XHP-222
3. Liqui-Moly LM47 rs.1200

Before making a hasty decision, I want your opinion as to what option has the best cost: reward and if I should change CV joint in pairs.

I guess with NKN and LM47 you will have a peace of mind for thousands of KMs, given that the boots and clamps with NKN are not of poor quality, so that they can lock in the grease and keep the dirt and moisture out, else opting for NKN and LM47 will be a waste, IMO.

However, this option will probably cost you 10K-12K depending on labor/khardia cost.

Changing CV joints in pair is always recommended just like it is recommended for shocks/suspensions to be changed in a pair. Doing so, guarantees that you have a brand new part on both ends and they will work better in tandem. otherwise, you will have one new CV joint and one old -- where the older one will give up sooner than the newer one and you will be again going to your kharadia.

@muhammad.irtiza dear get the car checked first. Don't hastly come to a decision. If the guys say you need to change the CV joint then go for it. Do opt for the NKN ones.. The good qualt Chinese ones also last quite long one of friends has it in his Cultus but again grease comes to play.

I have opted for Liqui moly myself double the cost but totally worth it. My father's lancer if you have seen the pics had her last rubber check and CV joint back in 2012 December. He personally brought the LM 47 and asked me to tell the guy to pour this in. Till now even the boots have not been changed and there is no sound in the Axel's. I similarly done that when changed my cars CV joints in 2015 and again when I got them serviced this year in January. I only needed to change the boots coz they were not good else. The MK Autos guy was also astonished to see that...

@omersiddiqui5482 bhai I am sure that one of the CV joints is bad, because the sound is surely exactly of an outer axle failing. If I am changing one axle, then it pays to make sure the other axle is also as good as the other. However you are correct, I must get the car checked first. Here's what the scope of work looks like:

1. Inspection of both axles.
2. Cleaning of old grease with petrol / acetone.
3. Replacement of Outer CV joints with proper grease.
4. Repair of inner CV joints (if needed) and re-greasing.
5. Installation of genuine boots with retainer clips on both ends.
6. Installation of new axle nuts.

By the sound of it, it appears that MK autos really know what they are doing.. How's your experience of their methods and professionalism? (do they listen to the customer)

And finally, if I buy NKN ones, they will come with a good quality grease... I think I should use that instead of LM47 on outers. Advice...

First of all I am not marketing for them Bhai just sharing my experience ( mentioning just to clear things). They are quite good. I personally have either been using services of MK autos 95% of the times and just once a senior pakwheeler suggested me Abdul Hameed and sons at be preedy Street for power steering (awesum knowledgeable guy)

I have been a customer for more than 15 years now ever since I was a kid. Have taken various car to them and never had a complaint. They either buy stuff for you or you are at the liberty to bring them the parts and they install it for you. I always take the second option I bring the parts whether new or Kabli and they install it.

You will observe that they have quite some machines with them, Hydraulic presses and what not. Us the charges are reasonable and they consume quite less time. I told you previously the did all the rubber work for my car with in hours.

Bhai the grease usually included in the package is not that good. I would say buy that German grease if you can or an American grease which is red in color rather costs about 600-700. And observe the difference in the package included grease and the thing you buy separately.

I take these tubes from the CV joint boxes at home, use them in greasing the door hinges, locks, power windows channels etc..

If you are buying expensive CV joints before that let your guys or anyone check the axel rods first. Just to confirm if they are salvageable.

I also have a gut feeling that the shop is competent, when I visited Kamran bhai they greeted me and asked me if they can help me with anything. The shop looked well equipped. I was thinking of going to Abdul Hameed due to Xulfiqar bhai's mention, but I do not think I have the street smarts to handle Saddar right now, I saw too many suspicious people today. MK Autos is in home territory and if you trust them I have no trust issues at all.

I will use all this knowledge to full use. Fellow Pakwheelers have been too kind to me. I am hyped up about this work, but I need some serious convincing skills to my father who has outright refused to do any work despite my offer of paying 50%.The car is back at home from cousin and it is as good as when Kamran bhai fixed it, although I am sensingg foul play in engine by my cousin (he played about with the fan). Either way, I am doing this job.

Overall the car is running perfect. However, I know he tapered around with engine because he made fan auto from direct.

My cousin did the foul play he converted to Auto from direct.. My car always overheats on auto, tried everything, even the best of mechanics have given up on its auto fan. Even Kamran bhai, who is a strong advocate of auto fan, says drive it on manual now.

Will get the fan direct again, it's where my car runs okay. Not risking another Head Gasket/Pipe burst/Wiring burning. Although yes, since Kamran bhai adjusted the timing the head is not heating up but I will revert it back to auto fan when I have cash in pocket to bear the aftermath.

I though Kamran made a blunder, since my Khyber is a daily runner Bhai he did a pretty good job but I kind of by nature after any maintenance work remain a bit cautious for atleast a week hence asking so I could check that on my car too. I don't want to be stranded in this heat and humidity on shahrah e Faisal..

Problem: My Cuore Head Gasket Keeps on Blowing.
For the third time, in 2 months.

Reason: I was not aware that good quality parts should he used and my mechanic was a sham. I have pledged to use good quality parts and changed my mechanic.

Work already done: complete renewal of cooling system including new radiator Denso (Kabli but in good condition) and changed all hoses and pipes.

What made the head gasket blow second and third time: Making Fan Auto when my cousin, who I lent the car, thought the heat needle was not working and made fan auto from direct. The first time head gasket blew on direct fan but I restored the cooling system with thermostat.
Second time the head gasket blew, the Mechanic did a lousy job imo.

What I need:
An explanation for the heatup of my car provided the timing was perfect when the gasket blew, correct procedure for head gasket replacement, along with recommended shops to get work done like facing head, and suggested modifications to keep my car's temperature down. After all I have gone through, do you still recommend auto fan or not.
Also tell me which brand head gasket is recommended, and anything else to make this repair bulletproof.

No idea, but these are some of the pictures of the block and head. The car has only been with me for less than a year.
(Most of these pipes and metal coolant pipe have been replaced already).
