Actually WagonR mein bohot common hai ye issue. They made wheel bearing out of butter I think. Most of the WagonR owners in the WhatsApp group have done wheel bearing replacement. Otherwise car is fine Mashallah, some owners have driven 200k without any problems.

what have you guys deduced on wheel bearing failure? - is the bearing filled with wrong grease? or is the bearing undersized? or something else?

@Xulfiqar bhai must be a manufacturing default.. maybe Paksuzuki did not install up to spec wheel bearings, because many WagonR owners have had similar problem. Over at the WagonR owner's club WhatsApp group, I asked around and people had wheel bearing failure at 15K kilometers too. It's the most commonly discussed problem on the group.

I first asked around the sound... Garr. Garr.. Gar... Sound on 40 km/h and above speeds and people confirmed this are the wheel bearing failure symptoms. Then my father took the car to a mechanic and instantly he diagnosed the sound as soon as he started driving the car. Now tommorow I will have it diagnosed by Paksuzuki.

I think the whole wheel bearing assembly will be changed and grease comes pre-applied in these hubs. Please do correct me if I am wrong. 5-6 small works are also pending so I will get them covered in warranty too and change to 0w-20 oil. Currently the car is running on 10w-40 and feels sluggish.

P.s the car ran without 1 rupees work in the past 6 months so we are not angry because it has served us well and we did use it in North Karachi's roads.

Some 100 series corolla from indus motors were shipped with bad real wheel bearing hubs, When I replaced the 5th of same failure I found that its seal was actually breached and allowed moisture to get in as the brake heated and cooled. The replacements were perfect.

btw - if you have a twin race cartridge like nearly all cars have now in the front you can take it apart and refill with some really good grease which will make it last longer, People that race their cars on racetracks do that on their cars. - Be very careful to not damage it or the seal or overfill it.

Thankfully the car is back home and it did not cost much to repair it. Paid the mechanic 1000 rupees and he cleaned the plugs and changed the point. The real reason was that the spark plugs were coated in oil due to piston rings work.

The not so good part is that a complete engine overhaul is the long term solution. Now we are just desperate to give the car away and get it over with.

What? Now it has position issues... Are you sure. Is it burning oil and giving smoke.. have you done the compression test? Does the engine has excessive noise. Normally we here do suggest an overhaul but in your case get rid of it and buy an Alto or a mehran, preferably a mehran.

Not burning oil and not giving smoke. But the mechanic showed there is quite alot of oil in exhaust. Plus the car has been missing a little from a month but now it's missing alot. Engine acceleration is top notch.

There must be something else. Oil in the exhaust is like a very very early sign, but oil on the plugs to cause this much shortage means the valve seats and the oil rings on the Piston are dead and the car is giving a hell lot smoke by now. We once owned a Honda that did this but it gave a hell lot of smoke.

Then it must be early signs of engine wear, because performance and efficiency of engine are good right now.

Plugs getting oiled might be an overstatement by him, maybe they were just carboned up. Real issue was that one of the cylinders was not firing at all which has been resolved. For all I know there was only a loose wire but all this happened while I was at workshop with my waggy so I cannot say.

@omersiddiqui5482 bhai Tommorow we are driving it to a local dealer who also bought our totalled cultus for good money. If we get good money, then well and good we don't want the next thing to break. Let's hope for the best. For the foreseeable future we will keep one car.

There are alot of things possible... Drive it till you possibly car and then sell it Bhai. If a car isn't faithful it aint worth the effort .

Plugs will also get coated with carbon incase of retarded ignition timing and bad plug wires and also carburettor can cause fouling of plugs.
What i would suggest is to run car for two three days and then check plugs your self.
Secondly this is not necessary that your rings are shot. It can also be valve seals or because of putting oil through the carburettor air suction.

How mechanic had shown you that there is oil in exhaust?

I just told him that dear. Oil in the silencer can be seen by himself too if there is any. Plugs do get carbon but after you drive on the same plugs for quite a long time on. He just got them brand new.

Yes this was done on my car when head tappets were adjusted. It was done twice in a month time.
The exhaust is thick black and the mechanic showed oil deposits by putting his fingers inside.

Tappets were adjusted when oil was poured through the Carburetor vaccum line what?

Yes when my car's timing was advanced, I took the car to Kamran bhai for first time he did everything from timing adjustment to tappet adjustment. And then he poured oil in carburetor. I asked why he said to lubricate the head component.

I will ask him about this personally! I don't understand why oil in a Carburetor. Khair what has been done is in the past now. Drive it till you sell it. Hope it doesn't bother you till then. I am off the view that your engine is good has no issue just the usual wear with time and use but nothing big.
