Agreed. I have Oriel Automatic. And it still has a reliable and smooth drive.

The cost of repairing the leakage in power steering was under 20k. Engine mount issue don't occur if you drive carefully like me stopping at every pothooe and jump.

I am astonished at the cost to maintain newer generation Toyota and Honda cars. I think it is wiser to keep a used automobile as they are much less costly to maintain.

At the present, I have top of the line Honda Reborn and a 'Manual' 2016 Toyota. Both the cars are cheap to maintain.

I've seen a couple of Grandes with CVT failures as well as old Axios with CVTs. These CVT transmissions are fragile and should not be used with abrupt accelerations and random launches from 0-100 all day. Plus, owners should follow CVT fluid change interval very strictly regardless of mileage covered or time elapsed which is specific for every car. Benefit is better fuel economy but I will take a more reliable transmission and a less noisy/rubberbandish transmission over a CVT anyday. There are some cases where failure occurs without any reason.

How do you know CVT is getting weak in terms of torque? I mean, the other day I was sitting in a 1.8 CVT transmission car; the front tyres were just touching the standard normal speed breaker; when the driver took his foot off the break, the car did not move; then he accelerated a little and car managed to move forward. I asked him if this is normal; he did not have an answer to that. What exactly are the signs of CVT getting weak and failing?

I'm facing the big jerk from standstill issue. Can you check if the issue happens in both "D" and "S" gears. Currently I'm only facing it in "D" gear

When did you change the CVT fluid last time? Sometimes changing the fluid fix the jerk issue.
Also, low fluid level can cause the jerk issue.

Changed it three weeks ago at the 80k service. Previous gear oil change was around 45k. The issue persists. Although if I accelerate really really slow from standstill till 12-13km/hr the jerk is not noticeable.

Tried changing the fuel filter. gear oil change, checked spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body. Nothing seems to fix it

Starting happening after the first fluid change but way later. Like 6-8 months later and 10k kilometers later

Bro my issue was in D only. Not in S. But again I got it checked from 2 honda dealership workshups and other mechanics as well. All said that the problem is with thr cvt. I have replaced it now

Your cvt is wearing out. It is best to get it inspected . You can't repair it obviously so best to get replacement from bilal gunj.

I got the whole setup for 220k in exchange with old cvt . New cvt oil for 14k from honda ( 7 liters) and labor for taking out the engine and transmission and putting it back around 15k. Now it's working fine . I have been told to drive slow for couple days for the new gear box to adjust ( don't know what he meant by it)

Bro after checking the plugs, coils, cleaning the injectors and hooking up the scanner the only prognosis was the gear box itself. Now after replacing it my car is driving perfectly fine. No more of that awful jerk. Car previously felt very heavy, loss of power when accelerating, and weird knocking jerks. The senior foreman at Honda point and another guy at honda cavalry said that after checking every thing else , the gear could b3 faulty.
