D.I.Y Cheap Rims Painting

Had a weekend so thought of doing something...

Material Used :

Sanding Paper of unknown grits : 4 for Rs. 60
Masking Tape Rs. 15
Gold Colour Spray Can 2 @ Rs. 165 each
Lacquer Spran Can @ Rs. 120

Total = Rs. 60+15+330+120 = Rs. 525

Colour was not of good quality although the shop keeper claim very exaggerated about it. The colour inside the can didnot match the colour mentioned outside. All my friends commented critically about the colour and i myself didnot like it...but it took me two days to do all this as i had many other tasks to do, so didnot do it in one go...

That's a job well done, I suggest use quality paint in the time to come as you'll notice debris will tear off your new paint quicker than usual.

looks nice... but here's the thing... the paint will crack if it is not of good quality. something that i experienced. plus take it to a tyre puncture shop and they will damage the paint for you... so enjoy the paint while you can and post your experience after a couple of weeks.

the paint is not of good quality but not that bad either. I dont think it is going to crack that soon. and yes puncture wala guys usually treat rims so badly that even best quality paints get damaged....thanks alot

very nice ... i have some scratches on my rims now what to do for that ?

if the scratches are not deep, use the lowest grit sand paper and sand it thoroughly before applying paint....this should work well

actually i could not take pics during the DIY. I took pics before and after the work and during some breaks only. Masking tape was used to cover the tyres with news paper while applying spray. No pic of that, sorry

i did...but may b that clear coat was not of good quality aswell. it cost me Rs. 120
