Sanden 507 is the best choice for Daewoo . I bought a sanden 507 kabli for 3500 Rs last year . This year prices will definitely increase.
But i have a question as well has anyone had any experience with 508 installed in a daewoo

Sorry Shah ji for such a very late reply....The Gas was cheap because there was gas in the Ac and the Ac was cooling but the Pressure was a Little less than Normal hence less charge because less gas....You have to argue for that otherwise they charge the Full amount.....I Changed the Rear Springs to raise the Car...The Ride is now very bumpy when the Car is not Loaded with passengers or other weight....So dont recommend it...

Its ok dear, just to share, i have also inserted rubber packing in the rear shocks and the car was very bumpy initially, however after removing lower rubber packing, bumping is reduced. (new packing was inserted on upper side of teh shock)

I recommend new ones. For the exact price, you can refer to the contact page, and ask from any of the new parts dealers.

For one of my family Daewoo, for tyres I am stuck b/w Dunlop SP Sport LM-701 and Dunlop ECO EC201 Size Selected: 185/70R13 (price range 4400~4700 per tyre)

I think EC201 is newer technology and will be better in economy. Rest I know nothing more technical/convincing point. Plz share your knowledge/info for my guidance. I am unable to compare them in terms of technology/economy/strength/suitability to our conditions

Tire sellers say EC201 has weaker/light sides relatively......

Comments especially technical stuff are most welcome.....

Also ASAD_SCORPIO21(u seem a record holder in posts & infact nice experience sharing), Shah73 and recently Welcome786(I pray his troubles in overhaul are over and gets a good ride).

Presently it seems to be my time of learning from others' experience and self contribution for betterment of all the Daewoo owners.

Current Job Done (Tyres Change)

Got New Tyres today DUNLOP SP SPORT LM701 (Size: 185/70R13) after a lot of survey. Date of Mfr: 42nd Week 2010. Price: PKR 4700/- per Tyre, Place Saddar Rawalpindi

Though I preferred Yokohama A-Drive being latest technology but not available in this size (Also a lil higher price too). Also Yokohama ASPEC A300 is higher in price but internationally doesn't have good feedback being very bad in wet conditions.

Other short listed DUNLOP ECO EC201 looks good on internet but somehow didn't appeal, no offence to a wide population using it

Next Job, Coming Weekend 26/27 March 2011 (Engine Overhaul)

Probable Engine Overhaull, Probable Mechanic: Tahir G-8 Markaz Isb (primarily being a young nice, smiling, courteous guy & the first mechanic i visited after buying my car. He is also among recommended ones).

I live near New Lalazar Rwp and nearest Irfan (near high court RWP), Mian Khan (Tipu road Rwp) and then Moon (Cricket Stadium Rwp) were also considered being well known and expert ppl. Insha Allah I really hope and pray that I get the best end results from Tahir like a new car engine. One of my friends will get it done for me (Lots and lots of best wishes and thanks to him).

Estimated Expenditure: PKR 18,000 ~ 33,000/-
Current Diagnostics: Timing belt Sound, Crank sound, Little engine heatup, Oil drinking by engine, 2.5 yrs (~15,000 km) short within city lady drive despite knowing at that time that engine needs rings replacement
But hats off to the engine, no winter startup troubles, normal pickup though mileage is less.

I also hope that the engine doesn't need replacement (I heard its still better to do overhaul as can't guarantee Kabli engine, ppl have varying experiences). Any Comments!!!

Celio doors are gattas with power windows motors are short.. even i have asked a friend of mine in torkham..

Guys i have found original racers power windows... the buttons are not to be installed at the doors all the 4 windows up/down buttons have to be installed in the center console behind the handbrake.. i.e b/w the hollow square area.. so all the 4 passengers can have access to the buttons..
Guys what do you say should i go for it..

If u need to replace origenal doors with Ceilo doors then check all options, get contact numbers of old parts dealers from this forum and check them all.
I don't understand why to replace Racer's engine with XLi's engine? if u want to upgrade the existing OHC TBFI engine then either go for Daewoo's own MPFI engine (or head) or DOHC engine. In my openion, replacing the engine might increase the complexities.

I'v seen them in few Daewoos, its like mercedes PW buttons but different from treditional Japnese style. If u don't have any issue with this style, go for it as it is technically ok. Personally I like the style...

Thanks to all for good wishes. I have a couple of questions here (btw its gonna be my 1st experience of probable overhaul (last experience was replacing old engine with new one, Diesel 2C, 6 yrs back in my dad's Corona Mark-I which proved to be very very nice while an overhaul before was not much good.

a. How about engine replacement with Stock Kabli. OR whats the possibility that I will have to spend more on the new/Kabli to replace something. Mechanics expect that for the overhaul it can go anywhere from 18,000~33,000/-(Total incl labour charges). While I checked the kabli is available in 28,000~30,000+2500 as Labour Charges+maybe something else not known yet) from Ahata Mitho Khan and Glass Factory Chah-e-Sultan Rawalpindi. They give a 15 days warranty of replacement in case of oil decrease or Blow etc (I really am not sure that 15 days will be enough).

b. ASAD_SCORPIO21 to pl share about his level of expectations/satisfaction now since some time has passed. Did u achieve the goals like smooth, noiseless running with no heatups or even lil oil decrease (I mean the feel of a new car engine :). I am asking this 'coz my previous experience of a diesel Kabli really gives you that feeeeeeel of a new engine........Does a complete overhaul can provide this and can it guarantee 100,000 km further etc. Aslo assuming the engine has been overhauled once before as well like 4/5 years.

c. I also have to get the classic brakes issue resolved as I am still on stock brakes. Which company servo/master cylinder assembly is recommended. Should I go separately to 'Sultan ka khoo' to some Servo seller/fitter or get it done from Daewoo's mechanic????

1- Islamabad registered,
2- need to use it as daily runner so it should be trouble free
3- must not required immediate expense
4- all instruments/buttons must be in working condition
5- 1993 (new dashboard) & 1998+ registration
6- budget depend upon the condition

looks like a lot of requirement but I used to keep daewoos in past and I found there is nothing like having a troublesome daewoo. so this time want to have really nice and trouble free woo.
