hope u ll be all good, well my car is running ok, the problem am facing is that my tail pipe smells like as if unburnt gas is getting out of it, and wat is computerized cng tuning, does it have good effect on car's performance or its just topi drama, can anybody tell me the xact location of the mechanic in gulzar i quaid or air port housing society??

i wanted to know whats the cost of 16valve toyota 96 engine. and is it good to overhaul engine or is it better to replace it with toyotas or any other cars 16valve efi engine....and also shah73 i wanted to know where did u buy ur head lights? i asked from korea autos and they were selling single side piece for 2000 rs..so can u tell me from where did u buy it in lhr thx?

Lights were bought from Korea Autos. However these r also availabel from Ahmed autos (its besides korea auto).

Much better to keep its genuine engine.

i wanted to ask abt the diference between manual engine tunning and computeried tunning? which one is ok...ay diference between the two? and same for cng settings as some do it manually and some computerized..is it jsut hocus pocus or really is something?

few days back i went for ball joint and tie rod work, and on turning right side some sound appears that increasing gradually.

ball joint work done
tie rod work done
both excel changed

alignment done

now i am facing a problem, when ever i press accelerator car tend to move towards right and when ever i suddenly lift my foot from accelerator, car tend to more towards left with a slight jurk.

please guide me what is wrong.

What is the tire condition?
Did you check the front chassis frame for any misalignment, by measuring the gap of front wheel from fenders?
Did you check the brake caliper for jamming on both front wheels?

If not, check these items and reply!

Daewoo's petrol tuning is just adjusting the CO-mixture, while the combustion efficiency can be attained by good coil, plug wires and plugs. Other than that no tuning is required.

For CNG, computerized tuning can help you attain combustion efficiency at certain RPM range, so when you drive your car within that range, you will get good response and optimum fuel efficiency. So it is good.

The difference between manual and computerized tuning is that for computerized tuning, a sensor/probe is used to quantitatively check the unburnt fuel from the exhaust while in manual tuning, just skill is required.

hi i wanted to discuss one thing more......my car is taking lot of time on starting up...esp if u start it after its been off for few hours n then subsequently the start up time decreases considerably...i got sluff serviced but no use n also the batery light is on ....very dim..non detectable in the day but at night u can make out a dim lighht of it. the mechanic says the charger is out of order n not charging n u gotta change it....n it doesnt gets repaired.. i wanted to ask is it true that once the charger gets weak its unrepairable n also wats the prise of new charger...n from where can i get it in lhr n also in isb coz i will b visiting isb next week so i may get it from there if its nt too pricely over there....the mechanic tells me the new charger costs 2500..is it true guys?

I recommend you contact anyone from Lahore (you can refer page-3). The prices are fluctuating on daily basis, and the bargain at the spot also matters a lot.

One more thing, if you can manage, get the Nissan's alternator. That fits perfectly in a daewoo, and is more robust than the original one.

THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS FAULT. FIRST OF ALL CHECK THE TENSION OF CHARGER DRIVE BELT. IF IT IS OK, THEN YOU CAN GET REPAIR THE CHARGER FROM ANY BUT SKILLED AUTO ELECTRICIAN. AS THERE IS NO SPECIALITY IN THE CHARGER OF DAEWOOs. TESTDRIVER IS ALSO REQUESTED TO COMMENT ON IT

Good tips: Mine did a wonderful job around 170Km per Cylender of CNG with 80% Ac and need to replace one Front Wheel Bearing.

I has experienced that Most of the Daewoo's which gone on long routs, had to visit their DOCTORS for checkup....

@testdriver..i read in ur previuos posts that u changed the engine head with dohc 16valve...and u said it costed u 25K -30K...is it the over cost u had when u overhauled the engine or is it extra to the cost of overhauling the engine...plx reply thx...my car is comsuming oil alot...and its sound is terrible...my mechanic tells me to overhaul the engine but wont cost less then 30K....can u plz enlighten me as to what parts r replaced or serviced in overhauling and whats the prices...and what abt replacement of engine head? plz..help me....its my ist cars engine over haul and i literally ve no idea abt what parts r replaced. so im totally at the mercy of my mechanic...although he is nice but still i gotta ve some idea as to where im spending my money...and if its really being used properly..thx...

25-30K was actually the cost of head (Rs.15K), ECM (Rs.5k), 16V compatible head gasket (Rs.1.1K), electrician labor(Rs.3K) and mechanic labor (Rs.3K). After increase in head pressure, the engine bearing started noise within 1 month and I had to overhaul engine. It cost me Rs.21K. The timing tensioner and belt were also weak, and I got a new set for Rs.11K. So overall it cost me around Rs.60K. If you want to do the same task now, add Rs.20K to the above cost.

As far as overhaul is concerned, you should keep in mind around Rs.30K.
