First of all get relax bro...! If that car will be written in your fate... it will be yours... no one can stole it from you if ur name is written on it...! First of all you need to define a little more about ur cousin's car. Please let us know the Chassis no. of that vehicle, the year of manufacture and the most importantly the gearing sequence. For your help I am sharing the gear pattern from which you can easily classify ur cousin's car:

P, R, N, D, 2, L (3 speed auto)
P, R, N ,D4,3,2 (4 speed auto)
P, R, N, D, S, B (CVT tranny)

Futhermore compare your car with the one's given in the following list. It will tell you what car it is and it is a CVT or not.....! Here is a easy check:

Lets compare the two Vehicle Identification plates:

If your car chassis no is like DBA-L275-GHMF then it will surely be a 3 speed auto. Next,
If it is like DBA-L275-GBGF/PF/PF/VF then it will be a CVT tranny car.

I personally like EK WAGON but i am not the right person to ask,an EK wagon owner can guidel you better about it.

found fuel average of L250 2007 2 door mira auto transmission to be 13 within the city,i think its pretty bad,how to improve it

If your car is a three speed automatic then it will consume more fuel as compared to a manual or a 4 speed auto or a CVT transmission. But 13km/lit is still too low even for a 3 speed auto.

Do the basic checks first
General tune-up
Make sure you are running stock size wheels. (heavy alloy wheels will increase fuel consumption)
Make sure tire pressure is as per spec (recommended tire pressure is given on the sticker you see when you open the driver side door).
Make sure the car is not raised by adding spacers.

First bring the car to stock condition and then see how it performs without any passengers.

I drive a Mira custom with CVT transmission
I noticed that fuel consumption increased after making the following changes
Replacing the original air filter with aftermarket filter
Raising the height of the car with spacers
Putting new alloy wheels.

The difference in fuel consumption was not significant but I guess the above changes reduced average by about 1-2 km/lt

The manual will certainly give you much better average and I think if you are really concerned about fuel consumption then the switch would be worth it. Do get advice from some other members on Pakwheels who have a Mira manual. As far as oil is concerned the user manual recommends 5W-30 API SM grade or higher. I am using total quartz 5W-30 in the Mira Custom. Regarding engine noise, yes you can hear it in the the cabin.

i am not that much concerned about fuel average as this vehicle i bought as second vehicle since my spouse has to go to her job on this and its hardly daily 15-20km drive.no doubt auto transmission is a big advantage in driving in traffic like pakistan thats why if its not too much difference in fuel average of manual and auto then i will stick to auto,thats y i was asking what will be difference in mileage of both per ltr.secondly have u used ac of mira in summers,does vehicle gets heat up? what u suggest in tuning of a mira and can u guide where in rwp/isb i can get it done

From what I have read in the forums 17-18km/ltr for the manual. But it would be better to talk to people who have actually driven a manual transmission they can guide you better.

From personal experience, the max I have been able to get is 20km/ltr from the Mira Custom with CVT transmission, but this is with mostly highway driving, about 80% highway and 20% city. I don't use it as a daily driver, the Mira is only used for school pick and drop.

Bought this car in October so it has not been tested in summer. However I got the radiator replaced with a double core one because it was advised by my mechanic. He worked on two cars that blew a head gasket because of overheating in peak summer with AC working. As far as tuning is concerned it is no different than any other efi car. Ask some member from ISB/RWP they will guide you better regarding mechanics.

I bought Daihatsu Mira Custom 2007 2 months ago. Today, I finished a run of mileage check and here are the results,

680 KM in 43 litres = 15.8 km/l

This is with AC mostly on but at low speed. Also, this was in Karachi city and mostly driven at busy time, stuck in traffic jams many times during this run.

Overall, I am satisfied with the mileage given the overall performance and comfort of the drive. I am going to hyderabad next week so I'll post the highway mileage insha ALLAH sometimes later.

i was reading claims regarding mileage of mira,got 2 door mira manual transmission 2007 with straight back lights and it gave me mileage of 19.25km/ltr,i filled the tank and drove it for about 450kms,this mileage is with choked air filter,unchanged oil and without tuning.This car an uncle of mine sent me to park at my home and use it as he is vehicles business and transferring his business from khi to isb

I ran another fuel economy test of my Mira Costum 2007 Turbo CVT, here are the details,

Tank full, drive, then tank full,

388 km / 21.7 litres = 17.88 km/l

This is with A/C running at low speed most of the time, and about 3 times stuck in heavy jam,

this button is used to switch to "TRAFFIC INFO" radio channel, which updates about the road conditions, weather, any accidents etc. but unfortunately we have no such service here in pak.

yes you can 2006 registered one as due to ban on import of more than 3 years old cars,prices have gone high

can u guys tell me about it, its pros and cons
its consumption, and is having a non CVT tranny car a drawback
cuz i think in my budget i won't get a cvt mira

also what about spare parts like lights, bumpers and such stuff
and other small stuff like filters etc

also will u guys recommend buying a JDM 660cc car?
