@xulfiqar sb i am in trouble,
2 days ago i was driving my 1990 Toyota Corolla 2.0D with 2C engine, i raced the car and rpm touched around 4k suddenly engine sounded like it has gone free or something. Engine remained on initially and i parked it, it was very loud at idle and it turned off on its own.
Fearing timing belt has snapped, i fetched the mechanic first, belt was fine, but engine runs with very loud knocking sound like some old khattara car.
Mechanic temporarily adjusted PUMP that reduced the noise and asked me to take it to LAB. LAB guy said nothing wrong with PUMP, either Timing Belt is not in place, or Engine needs overhauling, and asked me to take it to my engine mechanic.
Engine mechanic observed engine needs overhauling, but it was his rush time so asked me to come again for fault diagnosis.
Now normally every one recommends engine overhauling due to mild blow by, i think may be timing belt has skipped a gear, or may be tappet issue.
Please guide me here, what can be cause of very loud engine??
I have yet to take it to mechanic to inspect it, but i dont trust him as he may try to rip me off.
Other mechanic who i took for checking it, i normally use him for brake pad service kind of stuff, so don't want him to open whole paraphernalia for timing belt, though he thinks its not engine trouble but timing belt adjustment.
So at one side guy who is more experience with engines but i dont trust his intent, the other guy who is more friendly but i dont trust his skills
Accessing timing belt is also tough task so i want as much knowledge on the subject before opening the parts.
