1HD is not regarded as heavy duty diesel, its still a passenger car engine. HD diesels are a different category, e.g. repairing a twin countershaft manual gearbox from a HD truck is easier than repairing a synchro gearbox or automatic transmission. - Size isnt the matter here.
btw - I have seen the quality of work HD mechanics do in Pakistan, that is why all of the trucks and buses I have seen have severe cavitation damage at the block and head deck. Along with cracked coolant manifolds too - clogged EGR coolers, dead turbocharger wastegates etc.
When spending money on a repair, its best to study around and see the performance of work being done. For me all performance goes to zero as soon as I hear the words GCC return.
