same thing was confusing me, any ways i have given the pump to Cummins PK today morning, will get it in the evening or tomorrow, now i don't know from where to get it installed and timed with dial gauge.

regarding gear maybe u r right, my gear also goes little more to the left, like more then required to engage the 1st or 2nd gear (also works the normal way) and while engaged in 1st i can still move the gear to the left side but not freely.

5000 for pump service
4000 for 4 nozzles service

@Xulfiqar. Sir i own a diesel car with the odo 295000km. The issue is that it doesnt start on first self at morning. I have to give few try to rev the engine. Secondly when it gets started it gives alots of blue smoke. Mileage of the car is satisfying. Does 14km/l in city. So what should be the cause. Actually i lack knowledge of diesel engines. So ur help is needed

your engine needs a good check n tune, adjust the tappets, replace valve seals while the cam is removed, replace valve seals, time the pump and retest.

I always wanted to ask about this

I've seen many people and even the diesel labs say that if the engine is weak, pump/nozzle calibration will only make it worse.. some people I know have experienced such as well..
now I know that doesn't happen due to the pump/nozzle calibration.. rather it may be due to miscalibration.. what could it be?

You are spot on - its miscalibration and misguiding the customer to cover up the mechanics incompetence. It literally sounds stupid - e.g. your PC is old - you should not install a fresh copy of your windows OS as it may crash the HDD and also kill your motherboard... lol

I used to have people come up to me and say that their mechanics are forcing them for engine overhaul as the engine is now burning oil. Their problem was bad valve seals and a mistimed pump with siezed cold start. If the engine timing is not exact spot on the piston rings will not seal the cylinders as the combustion forces would not actually get behind the rings at the right moment of time. In Pakistan people and mechanics think that the rings seal under their own springing tension - its wrong - the spring tension is very low to seal forces of the combustion event that can literally stretch head bolts.

I have yet to see a "fresh pump" kill an engine if it was done by the book.

If the combustion event happens late the rings are relaxed and the downstroke will cause some oil to leak past the oil control rings, this creates two problems

1 - low power --- duh
2 - oil burn from getting past the ring stack which also causes it to carbonise into hard material and speed up the process of oil burn and eventually the compression rings start to stick and also wear out from excess oil.

Yeah a genset with a 1kz engine
Something went wrong with the pump or the guy tuning it.. the engine stopped only when it burned all of diesel and oil and ended up seized

there is a high risk of injury with runaway diesels on gennys - the rpms are uncontrolled and can reach 10,000 rpm in a few seconds - At those speeds the con rods can make a window in the block - that window shrapnel can cause death too. Always have a CO2 extinguisher when working on a running diesel engine - that way you can choke it down with CO2 rather than run like a girl.

I wonder what ustad Ra attributed this incident to. Maybe some jinnat had invaded the genset.

We hav check the valve train completely.. its a nozzle cackle.. and with more km on the odo the noise is changing... I still need to put in new lines and proper clamps.. only then can we diagnose any further

boss had you replaced the injector nozzel's with the brand new one's ? Still the tick tick there?
is the drive is smooth or the tick tick jump's in while accelerating or decelerating..

new nozzles.. only at idle.. sharp clatter.. ill be replacing injector lines and putting in missing clamps

sir @xulfiqar today i picked my calibrated pump and nozzles. they said my pump was working fine and did not had any issue.

I asked them for checking the CSD, they said they don't have water connection to check it ? this disappointed me.

anyways to check whether its working or stuck in rust first i poured boiling water in the CSD through a pipe and kief but there was no change in CSD plunger, so i took it to a roadside mechanic nearby, asked him to dismantle the CSD from pump and check it, he was opening it first time still i asked him to proceed as i was getting it done in my presence and mechanic was not allowed to touch any other thing on the pump, so he used L key and dismantled the CSD, now one more nut was unscrewed and the 2 heavy springs too came out.

now i took the CSD from him, put it in a bowl, poured full water in it and put it to boil, after 5-8mins the water started boiling still there was no visible difference in CSD plunger coming out, there was just a very tiny difference upon close notice that plunger came out.

now we let it cool down and i asked mechanic to pull the plunger out, it came out with a 'phuk' (like its air tight) sound and was very free inside, then i asked mechanic to pull out the thing in which that plunger was moving but that did not came out.

so we decided to reassemble the CSD and now we were not able to put back the 2 big springs and the piece attached to it which plunger moved and pump is still in same condition.

now please tell me how to check CSD is working or not and how to put it back ? tomorrow I will get the pump installed back and will also get timing belt changed.

9000 total as i mentioned before.

two heavy springs meaning?

the turning springs that move with the cam as the CSD pushes out or the springs from inside the pump. Take a picture.

If they are the return springs, you will need 2 people to seat them back as they are very strong.

those two are the bell crank springs, the whole assembly basically works the series of levers to increase idle speed like your petrol engine has "fast idle" or in desi terms "auto choke"

Try using some acid to clean the CSD unit. vinegar cuts rust, try that first.

sir how to fix it back please tell me ?

n i have put the CSD in vinegar now, tell me procedure how to clean the rust or just keep it like this ?
dont have more vinegar in home now
