Direct connection radiator fan is harmful

what u hav been usin as coolant in radiator water or synthetic coolant??????????????????

pic shows it was a water and got rusted
ans me that were u checkin ur water level regularly???????????
the colour shows u opened the csp after 3-6 months this is bad thing

i changed my hose pipes 4 months back and refilled my radiator by water and last month i noticed the water is brownish and i flushed the radiator by just openin lower hose pipe the color was visibly brown and i m a ragular cheker of water and engine oil level make it a habbit n half problems r solved right away

rust came from the metal pipe mounted on gear box where lower hose pipe is connected
radiator is made of copper i think which never rusts and engine is alumminium alloy it alos is a rust prov so rust came from steel pipe

ther must b the case that the rust in water choked at some point where heat n presure must hav opened it
tell me that how many days hav passed that u opened ur radiator last time also tell the water level u observe

one thing my car used to heat a lil bit with full water but after it turned brown i m fillin only half radiator with water and car is doin gr8 just flush it as digimanpk has said and pour new water in it and do flush it twice 4 better results

for starting problem at night convert ur car to petrol and in mornin start it on petrol especially in winters ur ride wil never let u down and also it is neccessary

after flushing ur car let us know about its condition so i will further assist u i hav khyber 94 and it made me ''''chota mistry'''':p:p:p:p:p:p

i know understand many things about khyber i m goin 2 b a khyber master:d:d:d:d

and also flush ur cng regulator tooo ther is a bolt at regulator's bottom just unscrew it oil will b drained it will increase its performance this might b the styartin problem but drive car on petrol tooooo and make it on petrol i ninght and start on petrol in mornin

well if there is any problem with ur ride u can share it hav u ever checked ur gear oil??????? if no then simply change it
gear oil shud b changed after 25k - 30k kms this is also a good thing 4 ride

Yaar i have checked the gear oil and it is upto the mark and its color is fine as well.
My Mehran is petrol only. Because it has a low running and according to my calculation investing on a CNG kit wont pay back considering the life remaining on car (its been 17 years now.. and you know how cheaply Mehrans are made) and the running it does every month ( 200-300 kms). My brother fills in the tank using his company's account ( LOL :P:P) , so it doesent seems reasonable. My car has been standing still for 2 days now , to petrol abhi bhi baqi hai. I need to flush my radiator also, so will do it today.

@uzzy, yaar i have pasted a link in my last posts. check that out. you will have to drain water, fill the radiator up again, run the engine for 5 min and then drain it again.!! Repeat this 2-3 times. Can you post a picture of your cars cooling system which shows pipe coming out of the radiator ( top view) , I can do a tutorial for you.

You see this pic , iwant a pic of your radiator for the angle so that I can see both pipes connected to the radiator . This one is taken from a close range to show the drain plug. But you need to take it from a distance in order for me to have a clear view. I will then do a tutorial for you from that pic.

Just for you info,

I assume that your radiator doesnt have a drain plug. As mine doesnt have it either. If you look at the bottom of the radiator, you will see a black pipe connected to it , which is connected to the engine via a steel pipe. Now, in order to drain your radiator you will have to disconnect that pipe by removing the clamp on top and pulling it from the steel pipe. Also, open the radiator cap to fully drain the radiator and the engine. once its empty. empty a bottle or two of tap water into the radiator so that the gunk inside the radiator flushes out of the pipe on the bottom which you just disconnected. do it two three times. once the water becomes clear. then reconnect the rubber pipe on the bottom side with the steel pipe like it was connected before and tighten the clamp. Now, fill the radiator with water, make sure you do it slowly in order to let the trapped air escape for the top. Make sure you change the water of the bottle as well. ONce the radiator is full, you need to run the engine for 5 min minimum. then turn the engine off and let it cool. Drain the water from the radiator and engine as you did in the start, reconnect, refill, run the engine and repeat the process for 2-3 times.

Now whether you call it Engine coolant Temperature Sensor or something else. We call it Automatic Radiator Fan switch here in Pakistan.

Why do you call it Automatic Radiator Switch? ECT does not directly turn on the fans... ECT signals the computer and the computer turns on the fans.

Now here is why you shouldn't call ECT a "Automatic Radiator Switch"

ECT's job is not only to control Radiator fans... It does a lot more than that...

The ECT sensor is very important. Its input is used to regulate many engine functions such as activating and deactivating the early fuel evaporation, EGR, canister purge, and TCC systems controlling the open- and closed-loop feedback modes of the system.

A defective ECT sensor may cause some of the following problems:

Hard engine starting
Rich or lean air/fuel ratio
Improper operation of emission devices
Reduced fuel economy
Improper converter clutch lockup
Hesitation on acceleration
Engine stalling

And I just want to say this.. Man Please if you don't know how to flush the cooling system yourself.. Don't advise others... It can cause overheating.

After lunch I'll explain why it can lead to overheating and proper way to flush the cooling system.

This whole arguement is here because cars in question are non efi with dated carbuerators and distributor type ignition systems whereas D_o_D is talking about advanced efi technology but still its called engine coolant temperature sensor because it senses temperature and sends a signal. Its different if signal is sent to ecu or directly to fan but basic concept is same in both cases.

Agar Gari thandi kerni hai to batawo without direct connection of fan.

If your car is overheating check the following:

1)Thermostat
2)Coolant Temperature Sensor (radiator)
3)Radiator fan relay or fuse for radiator fan.

Note: use coolant in radiator
