How did you install side vents?

Very simple.. bought grill and pipe of old mehran dashboard.. from scrap market.. open dashboard .. bolt on fit ..Suzuki left space for extra vents as in old models but covered with plastic .. only need to cut grill hole in coin box

its looking nice. i would say please install ac vent in the area of the holes instead. holes neat nahi lag rahe. baki wait for other suggestions as well. ya tou middle wala vent le kar vertical laga dete wo option b tha. so for this is brilliant.

Yar holes Cover Kent hain .. phr theek hojyega.. dual vent sy air flow kam hojata.. my only son sit at back seat .. so one vents fine..

this proves we can make anything we want. just need little thinking and little efforts.

the armrest console u used is perfect for this job. i wish if anyone could make a better design in wood to accomodate fan and grills for SUZUKI mehran. it will look great becuase the space between seats of mehran is very less.

HI ALL, as the topic says, there was something which was continuously triggering in my head to do something with mehran new model dashboard to control the cooling circulation in the car. during summer days when temperature goes up, the driver side gets not proper cooling because if u tilt the centre vent on both side, the driver side cooling gets obstructed by the steering and dashboard . so i thought why not to install an ac vent on the right side for the driver in the coin box area. afte…

gr8t work Turbo_charger the DIY, You have done for rear vent, doesn't affect any genuine parts of car......
I also observe the evaporator in my car is super chilled on day time. real problem are loses for average cooling under sun. after dusk cool improve.....
i have insulated lower pressure line and higher pressure after vaporizer.
now thinking of applying silver sheet under the dashboard mat as it sun rays heat it....

insulating low-Pressure line (yellow color on image) will not directly affect cooling inside as coolant exit through it toward compressor it will help compressor in the next cycle as lower the temperature of the gas, easier it will be reliquified by the compressor(efficiency improvement). the pipe from drier (red color ) is also insulated to cover loss from engine and radiator heat. first, I cover pipes with aluminum foil to protect against heat transfer through radiation then to cover convention i use foam pipe and then tie knot. both insulating materials are available from split AC shops/ mechanics.

further, I have also applied a dashboard mat. notice the color change due to sun heat, the initial color was grey. although the dashboard color is protected, it still gets heatup. AC system is working fine, real problems are losses. I m thinking of applying insulation sheet under it and also under carpet.....

i think newer models have insulation from factory on ac pipes. i will check and confirm.

i have also got that mat on dashboard and i keep a tissue box right over the center vents so they dont get heat from sunlight.
i have installed the grey foam on roof between the fibre and the roof metal. i have also used the grey foam sheet under the carpet from back seat floor till the firewall. it helped reduce the sounds as well as the heat of silencer that makes the floor hot after driving.

Another thing u can do which i did is, i took out the side mirrors and closed all the gaps and crevices using trasnparent rtv and duct tape. and then reinstalled the side mirrors. it stoped the whistle sounds at high speed as well as stopped leakage of cold air from these spots.

the areas still need to be corrected are the space between the door rubbers and metal. mehran ki sari cooling doors se nikal jatee hai
