So this part of the DIY has long been pending but I finally got some time for a wash, wax and then the much dreaded engine degreasing and engine bay cleanup.
This is how it looked like before the job

Here I've covered up the distributor cap, a few sensors that were up there and the battery terminals

Some of the things you would need for this.

You can use any engine degreaser, I picked this one from Casite because it looks like a promising product and brand - this one is foaming in nature.

Here i've sprayed the degreaser on, so the white foamy stuff you see is that. You're supposed to run the engine for a little while to bring it to an operating temperature and then spray the degreaser - that's how it works.

The degreaser took care of the engine and connecting metal areas with oily deposits - for the rest of the bay, i prepared this cleaning mixture. I used shampoo and just a little bit of Surf. I didn't use only Surf because its very harsh and abrasive.

This is the only picture i was able to take during the cleaning process - dirty and wet hands.

Here are some pictures of the engine bay after i was done - i was in a race against the sun and it was close to dark so the pictures are not so clear

And BEHOLD.. Here are some pictures taken the following day in daylight.
