Lums report does not talk about Tesla. It just shows what effect does EV have on the country overall so the effects are huge if i tell you. So that means if tomorrow we shifted towards EV we would have Zero running emissions, Health Issues due to emissions can be over, Oil Import which are substantial part of our import will shoot to 30bn$ will be minimized thus causing less pressure on our foreign reserves (Means stronger rupee). Most importantly our fuel cost will be 2-3 times less, By less fuel cost i mean cheaper goods, Our air will be cleaner and can have some minimizing effect on global warming. We would eliminate Oil tankers from Pak roads meaning substantial traffic decreased. Less mechanic and maintenance in case of cars,vans. This is just by thinking

If that is all that study report claimed then LUMS are class A morons.

We all know that electric car have no emmissions or relying on hydrocarbon fuel to work.. of course it would break down the chain of the hydrocarbon importx usage and transport.

So basically LUMS report told us that water is wet. Very interesting.. you see this is the very reason Pakistan is currently in shambles...

In real world, have you studied if the supply network of Pakistan can sustain electric cars? And what will happen when there are blackouts? Run small gennys? Where would you source the road usage tax from? Currently its tied to fuel bought at pump.

What happens when electric tarrif goes up? Do these electric cars just run in the cities or also be used on long highways? Would they also be goods transporter?

The Denim Jeans exported under different brand names are 99% made in Pakistan because ONLY THE FABRIC is local, metal zippers, copper / putter buttons, eyelets, rivets all are imported so yes we can say The Export based Fabric & Textile Finished products can carry legitimate Made in Pakistan logo proudly.

safety standard / regulation compliance for a TESLA are 15 points higher then for an regualar Hybrid vehicle which again has 13 point higher safety regulation compliance compared to a benzene / diesel powered vehicle.

The BYD company that manufactures electric cars started from just manufacturing batteries. Now they are leader in Electric cars. I think the issue with Pakistanis is we complain only and don't work to fix the problem. While other countries find opportunity within the problems. Anyways thanks for your input. The compliance is higher due to the battery system since on collision it can cause issues. All the problems in Pakistan are opportunities for young people.

O don't give a fuck if Pakistan gets Made in Pakistan cars or not. All I want is good roads. The roads I'm driving can split a car into 2 in a month lol no matter which brand and model it is. The roads in Pakistan are pathetic. And seriously Pakistan can't afford or let's say is not capable to make it's own cars but off course it would be great to have Made in Pakistan cars even though many people won't buy initially as we like imported tag in Pakistan but if it's a good quality car people will buy it eventually.

When a country makes its own cars, you have to pay half for the same grade car then you are paying now.

Pakistan can't even manufacture washing machines we had one Super Asia it was all metal and motor inside was 90s style heavy weight power hungry motor and to give support they put wooden pallets underneath it lol

Then imported Daewoo (made in Korea) washing machine from abroad use less power safety features and more work output

There are multiple ways either charge at home overnight. Or there can be super chargers built which can charge 80% in 30 mins (Recently there have been some breakthrough as well which charges in 5 mins but it is not commercialized now) I believe initially we would have to import Raw materials from other countries for LI Ion batteries. Later we can try to do R&D and try to utilize our materials (mostly in Baluchistan side) to build batteries.

There were about 10 or 12 Nissan Leaf imported into Pakistan. I know of 8 that are sitting dead in Karachi.

As per my study the shortfall of electricity is negligible. And recently new power projects have been completed. So as per my research we will have no electricity shortfall in coming future. Secondly we have some transmission issues of electricity and it can be disastrous but i believe it will gradually get better. I don't know about Nissan leaf. But Tesla in Lahore is being driven.

Every Tesla charging works with BITE ( built-in test equipment ) over cloud connectivity to OEM., through a embeded data link. [ May be the owner in lahore inserted a simm but PTA did not identified the IMEI of device and blocked it ] so the TESLA in Lahore is DEAD.

a TESLA if fail to respond OEM PING randomly, the vehicle firmware STOP charging the battery gradually it goes dead.

The power companies have stopped connecting GROUND ( EARTH ) with the poles, and there are NO Breakers connected at junctions.

Its not about ground a broken wire will find its ground itself in such situation everyone is advised to stay atleast 35 feet away from electric source
