nope. I did put the sample in water and it didnt absorb at all, though got soaked.

Its a CCf (closed cell foam) best used on the floor of the car and in the trunk. it is similar to dynaliner in properties and use. installing 1" thick it in door would be a PITA though

I used 1-2mm thick pure rubber sheets and stuck them with cementex.

First experience was very very messy! Not as easy as dynamat. But I did seal one door for approx Rs400. And then you cant put any price on the experience of a good DIY on a sunny sunday!

1'' in doors is like inviting hell to the car during rains and technical problems :S
Best solution is have the .75in or 1in in boot. covers floors with 0.5in or 0.75in and the inside sheet of the door with .25in and the frame (outside sheet) with dynamat or dyna alternative

Just went to Katy's today and checked out the stuff available. It is in various thickness levels. I personally checked the 1inch, 3/4inch and the half inch samples. Got the 3/4inch sample. Posting pictures here.

It is a foam type material usually used in refrigerator type products. The brand is Aeroflex. it is similar to Jumbolon but the material is much denser! plus its also much thicker than jumbolon. It is better than jumbolon would do a much greater job of sound deadening than Jumbolon. I wouldnt really compare ith with dynamat because Dynamat though expensive but does its job very well. This stuff is (aeroflux) is also heavy but is again foam. Only the 1inch thickness one has the aluminum layer on the top, rest all are simple foam. And again all the variants are self adhesive. Peel off and attach

The 3/4inch thickness sample.

1/2inch - Rs.2600 - 3ft x 4ft - 12 sq. ft. (one sheet)
3/4inch - Rs.3000 - 3ft x 4ft - 12 sq. ft. (one sheet)

There is a seller on ebay with the name 12volt. He's selling dynamat with international shipping at quite a reasonable rate. To save cost on shipping he folds 3 sheets in one USPS envelope and posts it to you. He also mentions a low value of the item on the package. Its not an electronic item so it's quite rare that you have to pay customs/duty on it. In the end, cost incurred on one 18x32 (4sq ft) dynamat sheet is b/w 2200-2500 rs. I once got dynamat sheets from this seller and they arrived in 2-3 weeks.. Hope this will help..

2200-2500 is an excellent price for each 18x32 sheet.

That is wonderful price, can you please guide us how you shop on ebay because you cant use ure credit card etc for payment and also there is no shipping for Pakistan. Many people here are intrested in dynamate especially in this price.

I am sure one pack wouldnt cost any duty but if one imports more then one might have to. In any case I am importing a few packs hopefully around 5 which will arrive by the end of April
