STA is to change ecu to starting mode - injectors fire together as batch as priming shot to enable faster start and ignition timing is locked at 8 degrees till 300 rpm is registered from crank sensor, it shares same 12V +ve
wire that goes to starter or starter relay.
btw it seems like you have an automatic transmission ecu for ECT type gearbox, I can see the D, L, R, SPD, SPD2 NSW, S1, S2 and SL pins too. If you put this on a manual car, it wont work as it will be stuck forever in limp mode.
