I want make a custom tuned box for my sub which is pioneer 308d2

What should be the the dimensions? Diagram? What material should be used? Nails or screws?

Bro You can customize the box and tuning frequency here. Just input the space you have in here and try to bring Tuned frequency (Fb) to 37hzor 38hz. This (Fb)depends on your setup and taste. Generally you can use which i have told.

Thanks bro, I actually need a perfect box for my sub, dont know abt frequencies that much thats why I asked if smeone could design it for me, btw what material should be used? Lasani or chipboard

That is carpenters fault, if you dont have any good carpenter in your city then stick to the chipboard

i mean if you dont have a good carpenter around to work with MDF, then use chipboard instead

well ... lasani phat iss liyay jaata hay .. because carpenters available at car audio shops making enclosure with a very low quality lasani etc ..
if u buy a good quality lasani which is almost double price then the other .. and use wood screws instead of nails ... use wood glue ..
use drills for holes ...
the box u made will be expensive then the box available in market .. but it last long ..

chip board is another option .. but again u will see qualities of chipboard available .. u can use one side lamination with is more tougher then other ..

and for dimensions .. made an enclosure as per manual .. and give proper RMS to your woofer ...it will works
of u can use online calculators as mentioned by roms bhai

NO! Being an SPL head ...I recommend to gofor MDF aka laassani .. There is good difference in output/sound of sub in laassani

MDF aka Lasani all the way!
1x sub in mdf enclosure can be easily beat 2x subs in chipboard!

Just make sure you are using Malaysian MDF which feels very soft to hands !

I went to carpenter and he said that formica/ laminated mdf is good

the thing about lasani/mdf is that u have to pre-drill the screw holes otherwise it will split. and yes most carpenters use low quality lasai, sometimes even 0.5" thick which cause the split.
