Engine compression test result

I tested compression on my honda city idsi 2004. Below are compression results.
Method used. Remove front four spark plugs and coils. Disconnect rear ignition coils. Hold throttle wide open. Cranked four time on each cylinder to get a reading on compression guage.

1st cylinder dry 160 psi
1st cylinder wet not attempted
2nd cylinder dry 90 to 95 psi
2nd cylinder Wet=150 psi
3rd cylinder dry 125 psi
3rd clinder wet=260 psi
4th cylinder dry 160 psi
4th cylinder wet =280 psi

I took 1st cylinder as the one closest to timing chain side.

These figures do not look good.

Should i go straight for an engine swap ? As rebuilding these engines is not advised by mechanics

Are you facing any particular issue with your engine?
The readings don't look fine to me, the difference between cylinders is just too much.
Can you please share the manufacturer name of the Compression tester and the price?

Swap is definitely a better idea than rebuild. Unless the mechanic is very skilled the rebuild will only be a temporary solution.

Are you sure you did the tests correctly?
It is a 2 person job. You have to crank until the needle stops rising. 4 times might not have been enough.
Too much oil will give a unusually higher wet reading.

You also have to make sure that the engine is hot.

Secondly for the dry readings more than 110-120 is a good number. And you got 160-95-125-160.
But the variance is not good. Can you try the tests again to see if it is an error in testing?

Yes the problem is lots loss of power and fuel economy and very rough idle despite all routine tune ups. Thats why i stopped going to mechanics and decided to do compression test myself.
Compression guage is of brand PROTUNE. Taiwan made. Brandreth road some tool vendors keep this brand. It costed me 1800 from last piece in old stock of a shop after searching all brandreth road. Normal price for this is around 2400.

I did it with two more persons to help. One for cranking and other for holding accelerator cable full open throttle
The engine was warmed for about 5 mintes before testing
And yes we cranked it until compression guage needle stopped rising.
And repeated two to three time for each cylinder and took average reading.
In cylinder 3 and 4 we put a bit more oil compared to cylinder 2 for wet test thats why may be wet readings shot up too much.
We even repeated cylinder 1 dry test again after cylinder 4 and still it showed around 160 to 165. So i am sure the dry readings wont vary more than 5 to 10 psi even if retested.
The only thing is that engine was mildly warm not fully hot

City i-DSI engine normal compression is around 200+/- psi per cylinder.

Also there is little smoke from oil dipstick hole when car is revved and released. Smoke from dipstick is not coming out constantly.

Before going for a swap i want to know if there is any possibility of fixing the low compession and blow by issue

Try Liqui moly Oil Smoke stop... It got many positive reviews. online. A friend has used it and he says it worked on his old cultus.

You can find it locally. Some might say its useless but giving it a try won't harm. It start working after 700 to 800 km.
