Engine Expert Mechanic in Karachi

I have a 2005 mehran vxr and i run it totally on petrol. few days ago due to an issue of oil n water mixture i had given it to a local mechanic who said that the engine head also needs repairing so he repaired the head too. after that my car is missing, plugs getting oil on it and the smoke is increasing day by day.

This problem wasn't there before the head work. Can anyone recommend does my car needs a full engine overhaul or only rings replacement. and also any good, technical mechanic for resolving this issue in karachi

why not go back to your mechanic who fixed this "head issue" and get him to resolve it.

btw - were you using plain tap water as engine coolant?

Well the local mechanic is saying that this issue is caused due to extreme overheating of your car and it would require whole engine overhaul leaving head and he is giving an estimate of around 30k. This reason doesn't looks correct to me as i didn't had ran the car after repair on a long route.

Well correct before the head problem i was using tap water but after the head repair i am using water that i use for drinking (i.e sweet water) n i am not using any other special coolant

@aliahmednayani sir about 40,000 kms ago i got my Corolla engine overhauled by Jamil Auto Mr. Irshad Ahmed 0300 223 7538 Quaid Azam Mazar area. The vehicle is performing very well without any issues i came across that workshop through the Pakwheels.

Can any senior specially @Xulfiqar Bhai can recommend any technical mechanic.
I visited 4 diff mechanics today each quoted different from 5k to 50k ( the one recommended by brother @uzeemujeeb) saying from just setting timing belt n the coverings of 6 valves in head, that is missing currently as per his findings, to rings n piston replacement, n the expensive one was whole engine overhaul

he said that I have to open whole engine n my labor cost would be 12k. I will then tell you the required parts that needs to be replaced n you will have to bring it on your own with an estimation he gave for the parts was around 35k.

This seems around 50k..

OK, that's a reasonable response. specially when you have already got it worked upon unsuccessfully. Mehran engine Head from scrapyard will be economical to swap. you can also try Iqbal Shahid suzuki specialist at Federal B area Cell # : 0335 2272273 / 0300 213 6021

Specialized in mechanical work , he is the one person got extensive knowledge of work he do.
A well educated certified mechanical engineer specially for Suzuki cars.

The mechanic that you intiallay gave the car to screwed up big time..
Any of the techs you visited most probably havent checked for compression in the engine... Ask Irshad Bhai at Jamil Autos to check the compression first, the results will tell you the expenses...

@capsat brother I am trying to convince Iqbal Shahid to rebuild my margalla's engine because he is someone I blindly trust. This will be a one time job and I can't drain my hard earned money with some idiot ustaad. Unfortunately, iqbal bhai has given up such major repairs and focuses more on engine tuneups.

Engine rebuild is a very technical job and wouldn't want any goof ups. Iqbal bhai has agreed on referring to a mechanic of his network, but I am insisting that he himself does the job or supervises the rebuild fully.

to rebuild engine you can goto Irshad 0300 223 7538, at shahrae quaideen. for success i'd recommend you shall spare sometime and visit market with him to source best possible oem parts. Irshad trust Malik Auto engineering for head and block machining, they are among few BEST machine shops of Karachi.

you need to make sure that cooling fans are automatic, thermostat valve is in system at time engine assembling system is filled with coolant. since you will be tearing down also focus upon changing to new clutch kit as well.

It would be a blessing to have someone who would ensure all these requirements when overhauling an engine i.e. Tstat Valve, coolant etc.

The Owner Need To Do Homework And Supervise It To Good Extent... YES

If You Just Leave It On Anyone ...They Will Do Their Best But not exactly as you want it to be best

I know all of this and i fully trust the recommendations provided by each and every forum member. There is something which i would want to discuss with @capsat or @babarhyd before I head out to Irshad for the overhaul job. I would, for now, want to keep it discreet. There is some background to it.
