The duty free import of parts is for new entrants not Suzuki, toyota, honda.
Il check about the r06a but all other engines are assembled in Pakistan. All cars in Suzuki's line up ( alto, cultus, wagonR, Swift are using relatively new technology now.
Cultus and Wagonrs k10B is Indonesian sourced, Altos most parts are Japanese but the major car is localized now.
And suzuki engineers aren't Sarak chaap, they definitely know better. If nothing the only reason to use 10W40 in Alto is cost saving so people think the maintenance isnt costing to much more then the mehran.
But last prices for mehrans were 9 lacks and Alto now costs 16 lacks.
I also agree to the fact Suzuki used wrong transmission oil, and they have rectified it.
But since Suzuki is offering 0W20 for other vehicles and not using it for Alto doesn't makes sense. They are also offering it for the 10 year old Swift aswell.
WagonRs owner manual on the last page specially mentions use of 0W20, even when paksuzuki wasn't offering this oil.
