No worries bro, that was the other oil 10w30, but all good in sha Allah it will be giving the same fuel consumption at 200k kms as well.
At least, my gli user to give me the same on the first day and the last day even after 6 years

say......5W means viscosity sustainability at -25C Winter, (The oil remains thin enough to get throughout the engine during cold starting at -25C to avoid engine wear)
then 10W means oil can sustain its viscosity till -10C in Winter....

& 40 means .........viscosity sustainability @ 40C (The Oil retains its property / viscosity in summer during warm up loaded operation at ambient 40C)

50C means sustainability of viscosity at 50C ambient in summer....

Please correct me if i am wrong some where as i want to clear the concept.???

absolutely right.

here actually people are getting wrong perception of thin and thick oil. Its viscosity sustainability i.e. should remain as thin in cold weather to avoid cold starting wear and to remain viscous till 40 or 50C hot ambient conditions.....
Actually its the operating band width from -.....C to +....C (prior viscosity remains same)

Best oil money can buy would be the Mobil 1 0w40 used it in my car for 9000kms worked like a charm.. great smooth ride.

Please advise on what oil to use in my new car to be and after how much kms on the odo should I have my first car oil change?

if you want to keep warranty of your car and i know you do then follow this procedure
after 3000 kms on your ODO , change to Petron Plus 10w30
then at 8000kms on your ODO , Change to Toyota Taglon Fully synthetic 5w50 and keep using it.
Same is what haseeb and me did.

but i opted for Liqui moly which viods the warranty

Thanks for your prompt and detailed reply. What about the first warranty service at 1000km? Does this service not include an oil change?
And if we purchase the oil and filter from outside and have the oil changed from Toyota Dealership, then would it void warranty? What do you guys do?

No oil change required at first free services which you should get after 30 days or 1,000 kms whichever comes first.

You can bring your own filter, but oil has to be of Toyota workshop because of warranty.

Avoid Hyundai Xteer It Seizedup My Corolla Engine

Dear Friends I recently had a bad experience with hyundai xteer engine oil which i want to convey to other mates in order to save their cars. I put hyundai xteer in my corolla 2009 one month ago and now my engine is seizedup i went to the workshop again but they are denying this fact even one of the hyundai employees disconnected my call after hearing this complaint. DONT BE FOOL TO USE SUCH PRODUCTS!

Change first oil to Toyota taglon 5w50 at 5000km with oil filter change. You won't face any issue like power loss, fuel consumption issue or etc. It's a good oil. I am also using the same and it is working like a charm for me. Best fuel economy, best startups and optimum power. I would highly recommend it for all corolla variants. One of the best oil by Indus.
As far 1k service is concerned it's just a general check up nothing else, but necessary for warranty.
Be advised, do not go to Toyota ravi motors. They suck.

Hello guys,

A lot of people were criticising me on using taglon 5w50 fully synthetic. Well, I must say Toyota isn't stupid to recommend it for all corolla variants.
Driven my car on taglon for like 8000kms now, and what I've noticed that fuel economy is 11-13km/l within city, 15-17km/l on motorway and 17-18km/l on highways. No more noises at cold start and lesser engine noise. Acceleration is smooth and engine is running smoothly. Do keep in mind that Paki environment traffic dust is a lot different than europe
Or US.
Toyota Taglon 5w50 fully syntheticis is highly recommended oil for all corolla variants. Go for it.

Yes, but why should I do that? I'm getting good fuel economy as well, but I might change after 50k kms to some other oil.
Engine noise is pretty less, if you have 1.8 and in Lahore than we can meet up and compare

I only change oil from toyota garden town dealership.
All other works are taken care by my own mechanic. Brake oil and cvt will also be changed by toyota in future in sha Allah

As this is a thread for oil, i want to ask what oil should i use in my Honda Civic Oriel. I have been using Zic A+ 5W-30 in my Reborn. I wan't to know if i should use Liqui Moly 5W-30 in my oriel or change the viscosity also.
