The oil change interval was 3.5k kms to 4k kms from 2013 I was using Shell 10W-40 which is semi synthetic. I blame the Shell petrol pump for this oil consumption issue because they have never opened drain bolt, they have always used oil extractor for my car which is not good but at that time I was 9 years old and didn't knew anything about cars. And from starting Guard oil filter was used. There is a guy on YT his channel name is Car care nut, he says the same but the engine is old 220k kms driven so I cant use engine flush. I went to authorized Liqui moly shop and I asked about Engine flush they said don't buy your car is old so the engine seals might leak. And if there is sludge on oil control rings then why the oil escapes? If we remove that sludge it will increase that issue I think. And now I am using Genuine oil filter and I open oil drain bolt to drain oil.

Yes ... You Can't use engine Flush at this mileage.. any gunk or sludge can stuck into oil galleries during flushing and will eventually stop oil flow ... Oil pump mesh can be clogged by Flushing residuals..and it,ll stop oil flow into entire engine..AVOID THIS...
But what can you do is change to Zic or Micking 10/40 fully synthetic oils and keep changing at 3000 kms to gradually cleaning of Engine.. 10/30 is again semi synthetic or mineral (Havolin)..

About Pistons Rings you need to know that there are 3 rings.
2 compression Rings on up side
1 oil control rings just below compression Rings
Oil rings duty is to keep oil going back downward to oil pan via very tiny little holes inside it... Did not allowing to pass through it... when gets clogged oil shall pass through Compression Rings via very tight spaces..

Any fully synthetic oil will clean it over time
No need of flush etc

I might pour Caltex Fully synthetic 5W-30 next time. I have used 5W-40 Shell fully synthetic few times but it didn't changed anything. I have seen my engine from top ( When I was changing tappet cover gasket ) it was clean and the engine was brownish but don't know about oil pan and piston rings. I will share picture later.

I have used Fully synthetic oil many times but it didn't made any changes. I might shift to 5W-30 caltex fully synthetic.

Is that sludge on bolts?

No that is oil in brown color which looks like black sludge on bolts. There was no sludge on the top of the engine.

Many people are saying to me, use Engine flush or Fully synthetic oil that will remove sludge from piston rings but I think oil consumption issue in my car is not due to sludge. The recommended oil grade for this car is 5W-30 or 10W-30 but I have used 10W-40 from starting I think that's why the car started to consume oil. And I have heard that when we cold start the car we should drive it slowly to warm up the car fast. We should not leave it idling for 5 to 10 minutes to warm up the car, it increases the wear and tear because the car doesn't warm up fast. Many Engineers says that car wear and tear is more when it is cold started and I remember I have always left my car in winters idling for 5 to 10 minutes to warmup this can also be the reason for oil consumption.

You do compression test to confirm
No you do it right. Leave it idle for sometime.
Yes wear is more in cold. Because metal expand with heat. In cold start rings are not expanded along with the other moving parts and Oil. Loose spaces causes more impact between each other and thus more wear.

He's telling the same thing. Leave it idle for sometime then drive.
Remember car till take too long to get at idle temperature while parked. That's why you need to drive to increase the temperature of engine.
But not like "start and go" . New high end cars came with electronic water pump as well. That will help them to gain temperature more rapidly. And stay there.

I always let the car warm up between 30 seconds to a minute, just until the rpm drops down to a regular idle. And 30 to 60 seconds is fine for Lubrication I think its mentioned in video too.

Give it a little more time. Even if you go then keep the pedal soft.
Oil pumps take few cranks to make enough oil pressure.

3000 kms oil change interval on a semi synthetic in a modern toyota engine? - is this oil branded as Tullo or Dalda?

Hahaha it is branded but I was using Guard filter at that time. And now the car consumes the oil and I don't want to switch to thick oil so Iam using thin oil which is recommended 10W-30 and changing at 2.5 to 3k kms and Iam using 10W-30 mineral oil now. .

I want to ask another thing you said that '' oil rating does actually matter, a w50 rated oil is approximately 20cst at 100C, while a W20 rated oil has a max viscosity of 8cst at 100C '' Does oil grade have any link with outside climate temperature? Many people say that W20 oil cant be used in Pakistan because of heat but I don't think so it has any link with climate temperature.

Buy any local brand like Shell or Caltex. Local brands are good.
