Dear All,

My car(Toyota SE Saloon 2003(,Petrol+CNG,1598 CC) was overheated thats why gasket has been burnt.Cylinder of lower assembly turns into black/burnt.Now situation is this mechanic is saying we have to change engine with a "kabli" (half assembly)engine.What you can suggest.Also plz give me the place from where i can buy half assembly also give me the rough price of that.

Toyota SE Saloon has 3ZZFE Engine. And in Quetta whole engine costs around 50000Rs to 80000Rs.

engine can b overhauled and it will be cheaper to overhaul the engine but the result will not be satisfactory coz our local mechanic dont have right knowledge to overhaul an engine according to factory specs.....so better option is to get a nice n clean kabli head n assembly....you will b using your old transmission, alternator, compressor, power steering pump, intake n exhuast manifolds, throttle body etc with it.....

I would advice rebuild from toyota 3s dealer, it will be an expensive option then others but it will have Toyota warranty plus you will face no problem

^^bro, DONOT go for swap,. it will cost you more. I also own SE Saloon and have face the valve missing issues,. Luckily got one friend who has good mechanics from where i have changed the head assembly(remember you won't find the kabli parts as its 3zz-fe is not available in RWP market only CIVIL)
Best is to take the car to mechanic or have visit with him. I paid 6500 to kabari for head + valvues assembly +3000 lathe charges + 3000 Mechanic for opening n closing all setup..
Rest you can calculate.
i can share the contact # of mechanic that on 9 gazi road name SAJID Kharadiya...Between mirrer chowk and porii pull road.

Condition Of Block Is Where It All Depends Either It Can Be Rebuild Or Need A Block Replacement...!!

These Blocks Are Not As Good As OLD SKool Iron Blocks When It Comes To Take BEATINg

Dear i dnt know about pindi but here in quetta the whole engine is costing 30000 to 50000 depending upon the condition. I think you should visit a market and ask for prices. If it is economical for u , then i think the best thing is to swap the half assembly. Regards.

Please do not swap the engine, take engine block to machine (lathe) shop and seek opinion from the machinist. Next get the parts list from the USTAAD working on your vehicle and run around pindi saddar area for genuine & oem replacement parts estimate. do some exercise and sum up the advantages & disadvantages ( car value goes down with an altered engine number over the regn book )

add the head bolts to parts list as Guru Xulfiqar recommend new head-bolts for engine rebuild. Head bolts shall be correctly torqued for mating of head & block with gasket to avoid overheating & gaskit burn-out.

clean the engine block water lines with gun brush & oil lines with pressure washer before Ustaad start assembling the freshly machined engine block

Dear All,
Finally i have decided for swap of the engine.Now which is best 1NZFE,1ZR-FE engine.should i replace gear box with automatic or not.
Actually i dont know enough for cars n mechanic is saying that it would cost me about 80K (for 1NZFE, engine+Gear Box).
Also do tell me what would be the resale value after changing the engine.
I need expert suggestion from u.

bro. overhaul your old engine. second hand used engines are good for six months and then they also starts to smoke (white).
