MAF looks incorrect to me. Better meet Yousaf ustaad in Sultan ka khoo. He is not an electrician himself but he knows these engine swaps like anything. He will tell you the rights and wrongs done. IN Mithu Khan they only have tos tart the engine. An expectation of having proper wiring and everything in order is far fetched. Do not lose heart. You are almost done.

Saqib bhai, for a dumb-mind like me, can you please comprehensively elaborate the difference between the hassel of wiring to be done between QG15 and QG18 ? As it looks very similar engine to me like QG18, what else would have been changed or more troublesome in QG18 than this QG15? Please enlighten me.

Jaan le ga kiya u know i am not a bijli ustaad. anyway, as i know QG13 gandhara one does not even have an O2 to worry about. QG15 has an O2 so some added comlexity to wire. QG18 has O2 (more then one in some models) and NVCT (Lovingly called VTEC, VVTI here) so that has to be wired as well. All three have different AFMs and obviously different ECUs. Nissan ECUs are hard to identify unlike toyota and Mithu Khan crowd has many times attached wrong ones just to make the car run. Now that a few swaps are done, tehre are few people who know the ECU numbers for each engine. Like i can tell you for QG13 and 18 (single O2 version).

I have seen two swaps of 15, this is the third one. Do not know much details, in my opinion, this is very well balanced engine for performance and economy (105hp giving you 13-14 within city easily). QG18 is for loners like me who have to travel on weekly basis. It just does not feel stressed at any point on motorway. Maybe i feel a lot of difference after the 90hp QG13 in the heavy N16. If U r getting ored, race around a little with teh civics and premios. Corolla obviously rules the roads here but the look on a corolla owner after being thrashed by a gentlemen looking sunny is priceless

Also when i did my swap, we ran the QG18 on QG13 wiring for 3 days, for the sake of knowledge. Meanwhile i was sorting out the exhaust manifold etc. as i got an assembly and not the whole engine with tranny. It worked fine even with that but obviously was running lean.

And Mr. dumb u wired a GA15 yourself and properly. I should be the one asking things about bijli from you. I am hands on and experienced with engines and mechanicals but damn afraid from bijli stuff and my luck always run out with bijli. That feeling of being desupported on bijli with Ghuncha gone still haunts me.

Hmmm, thanks for pointing out. I've scheduled a visit to the Mitho Khan this saturday. Will inquire from him about that.

I share that feeling of "ghuncha-less" too, but alas, we have to move on. Why am i tilting towards qG18 don't know why and who knows it comes "CVT TRANSMISSION" this time

Press me a bit hard, and expect a treat from me on this Sunny, being an Electrical Engineer (Have downloaded tons of manuals, never got the time along side my day job + Part time web development)

Even bought a high end multimeter capable of measuring 100+ DC Amp. That is lying packed in my room

It definitely is much healthier than the one i showed from some stock fitted QG15

Don't Go For CNG....Simply Not Worth Specially With Upcoming Season And Shutdown....Keep It On Petrol And Let It Roll For A Time...

As Engine Is Inside.....Now Go For Wiring Ticks And Tacks.....You Have To Figure Out Things Now ...!

The Proper Way As Xulfiqar Bhai Said Is To Do Your Homework Before Swap...Wiring Is The Critical Part And Should Be Done Tested And Marked Before Swaps......Once Engine Is Inside...All You Need To Care Is Just Plug It Up And Fire It.....! Since Its The Issue Here That We Don't Have Wiring Experts And Professionals Here.... You Have To Live With Wiring LOOM In Order To Make The Swap Best Bang For A BUCK.....But Not Everyone Can Live With Wiring Loom In His Room LOL.....!

Most All They Do Is Hit And Look..... In This Swap...I Guess Uncut Wiring Might Have Save You Lot Of Troubles But If Sensors Itself Are Working Fine....!

Just Keep Eye On Unusual Issues And Discuss ...Saqib Bhai Is Your Best Friend Now

A few issues as of now:

1. Engine was very much silent when started, it still is pretty silent. But when i rev it a bit, the sound is partly that of a sports car and partly that of a broken silencer.

2. Power steering stopped working the next day. Upon inspection, the pipe had leaked all oil. There was some grinding sound from steering for some time before it became rock solid

3. Clutch became quite hard

Have talked to engine guy about all these, and he agreed to fix everything on Saturday

1. Get yourself a new "gaata" made, it is a three or four screw joint which connects the exhaust pipe to manifold. Make it of a thick iron piece and use original bolts with springs in them, don't know what they are called. Also do put in gasket in between.

2. You should have used the original pipe for power steering. They did jugaar for most of your pipes as I saw most of your engine pipes were cut and you will be suffering from them every now and then. Do pour oil in PS bottle if you are still using it. Otherwise, pump will get bad very soon operating without oil.

3. Your clutch is farig I guess. That is why I always choose the engine which transmission is not yet separated. Be it faulty or whatever. I am not fond of these kabarias opening clutch and pressure plate for inspection. Fools.

4. That "engine guy" is not your doctor. You yourself are. So make your mind.

Let's see if i can sort out these issues with their help. I changed the power oil pipe and filled the power oil, but its still hard.

About clutch, let me find their stance first. As he suggested that it is only issue of some settings and they'll fix it easily. That also used to happen with E13 in place after I left the mechanic. Only the throttle cable issue.

I felt the noise and hard clutch issue right when i first drove it, but it was already 10:00PM Sunday, and I went back home.
