Facts about Taglon 5w-50 oil by IMC

Got Taglon detalied spec sheet from IMC on my request. It debunks many myths and rumours swirling around it. All doubts cleared now.

who in their right minds will use a 19 cst oil in a newer toyota dual VVT engine??

it will be a spectacular scene when you can actually feel the VVT phasers kick in.. LOL

Leave everything; Just have a look at Kinematic Viscosity figures at 40°C and 100°C. These are almost double when compared to 5w-30 and 10w-30.

TGMO 5w-50 in modern Toyota engines for general use cars (like Corolla, Camry, Vitz / Yaris, etc.); I can only pray!

Toyota in USA are specifying a 0w20 in the corolla 1.8, its 100C viscosity is 7.8cst - this taglon oil is more than 200% thicker than that.

And even 0w-16 in their latest models; 2020 Avalon Hybrid, 2019 2.5L Non-Hybrid Camry with A25A-FKS and 2.5L Hybrid Camry A25A-FXS, etc. to name a few.

IMC is recommending and pouring 20w-50 here, even in used JDMs. The current owner of my ex-ride Passo told me this 02 days ago after confirmation from 02 dealerships in the Capital, and they recommended him the same to which he regretted.

IDK and fail to understand that why even IMC does not understand it? I can not expect such level of ignorance at least from them. Ustaad gees to then unn k muqably mein momin hain!

IMC have no interest in anything as they dont offer a longer warranty. For them its beneficial if you destroy your engine in 100,000 kms and you come back to buy a new car from them.

The owner is smart enough to read the owner manual and use the gray matter in skull..

So guys i myself after doing research and asking people on forums have decided to switch to 5W/30, my car was being serviced and maintained through Toyota Dealership which now has been sealed pushing me to choose other brands and i have found people praising Total Quartz 9000 5W/30 so iA this time i’ll switch to that oil, Taglon 5W/50 seemed odd to me but then again im no expert, can any senior member tell me after switching oils what should i be expecting in performance ?

easier starting, much better fuel economy and longer life. Maybe a bit lower operating temperature too.

same here.. I use cheap 5w30 in my old camry (200K) - asking for 5w50 for it at a dealer or parts store is sure way to get a ride in the "padded ambulance" (paagalkhana ki ambulance)

Sir..what u mentioned makes a lot of sense but i m surprised how come imc opted for 5w-50 instead of a very common 5w-30?. Could it a marketing gimmick?

I think, its a sort of "Jahalat" / ignorance by IMC, instead of Marketing Gimmick.

IMC sey Honda pk behtar hai, at least they are sticking with 0w-20, 5w-30 and 10w-30 (depending on requirements and conditions).

The guy from whom i get oil changed in my other cars has suggested me the 5W/30 by Toyota, which is Japanese and is sold in a tin pack, any reviews on that guys ?

I am using Taglon in dual vvti engine vehicles since 2015 and have not faced a signle issue. Accerlation is great as well as fuel economy which is 13-14 kms / liter in city congested, stop and go drive.

It is more satisfying to note that this oil has been blended by ExxonMobil
