JIT has a completely different meaning in Pakistan, if you've been keeping up with recent happenings.

Even my 9th generation Corolla's manual said it does not need elaborate engine break in as engine is pre run at the factory.

I gave the manual with the car to the new owner otherwise could have posted a snapshot.

But even then who would have listened to it as most people commenting here are way more knowledgable than Toyota.

yes - they dont require break in - the machining is done at perfect tolerance to break in the engine within a few minutes of startup. You dont need to cook haleem or paye with engine break in.

Its not pre-run at all. No small econo car manufacturer can afford that.

For people who want to educate themselves, this is the crux of whole argument if anyone is paying attention, tolerances of newer tech engines are extreme, if you want to know more about engine tolerances do research and specially the F1 engines and how they are started. Breaking in new engines now is merely a formality. Its suggested to avoid harsh breaking, otherwise its all good.

As for the “Ustaad jee” rant you commonly see on Pakwheels, its like you get what you pay for.

People want a full engine overhaul labour of under 10,000 rupees and expect the “ustaad” to use a torque wrench.

By 1000 rpms I’m referring to the minimum rpm at which altis drives when you are just touching the pedal. The ECU wont let rpms drop below them in a running car. So at those minimum rpms cars output in terms of speed has increased.

When cars output in terms of speed increases at constant rpms thats when you get better fuel mileage and when the output in terms of speed decreases under similar conditions thats when you get bad mileage as far as my understanding is concerned

I am not drinking. I am experimenting the new oil. I would move back to the older one if i get poor results. You can always suggest me better experimental ways of knowing whether the new oil is better for this car or not. The results will be helpful for the forum users

And I have always been believing that engine oil is supposed to lubricate engine and reduce friction and wear and tear on internal moving parts? I never thought about these inputs and outputs.

Interesting theory. I have never thought this way. Generally rpm to speed ratio is referred to in terms of gear ratio or tyre size.

Took this picture of recommended oil grade from Altis 1.6 Manual.....clearly written that recommended grade is 5W30, and still Toyota is selling 5W50 to customers. Horrible
