In general FAW is a good car. Its center console has a distinctive silver plastic look which might look cheap to some people. But at night with all car lights turned on, the interior looks amazing with green lights. External Fog lights are also beautifully designed and looks amazing at night
Interior wise, FAW is much much roomier than Wagon R. I have driven Wagon R numerous times and its really crowded. My height is 5.11 and I drive with seat maximum placed backward. As a driver, it is fine, but when you are sitting on side passenger seat with 3 people sitting behind, they ask me to pull seat ahead as they cannot adjust their knee. Puling my seat one notch ahead causes my knees to touch the glove box. Height wise, it is unnecessary high. There is at least 1 foot distance between my head and roof which is of no value. It only adds unnecessary body weight to car.
In contrast FAW is much roomier. My knees are completely relaxed while sitting on passenger side including the rear passengers. No troubles at all. Its Trunk size is also huge.. Even bigger than Swift if you compare the dimensions. Our dealer also installed complete LCD screen music player. touch controls, and Rear view camera complimentary. Its touch screen can also be synced with mobile and used to answer calls. Although there are only 2 standard side speakers in front doors. Ground Clearance is another advantage. Although Wagon R is reasonably high, FAW is 1 or 1.5 inch higher. which makes it better in city with Poor roads.
Apart from cars original cost, we paid 24000 Tax filer, 28000 registration and 2500 delivery charges ( that's what my dad told me to insurance company, etc I am not sure ). OWN Money was only 25000. I don't know why are they asking for 40 k from you. They told us that delivery time is 2.5 months but we got a call just after 1 month to receive our car.
The Dealer ship people have also been very welcoming and helpful. We had 4 issues when we received the car.
1 - The Glove box was not closing properly
2 - The Key less entry system was not working on side passenger door.
3 - Small scuff marks on the lower body of car like some stone has grazed over.
4 - The Trunk opening button was stuck inside.
We took the car next day to dealership and the addressed all issues within the next 3 hours. All our complaints were corrected to 100% satisfaction.
In reality, I like both cars. But if you are thinking about Resale then Wagon R is the choice. If you want a comfortable Ride and hope to pass on this car to your younger sibling later then buy FAW. FAW will not have significant resale value so, this is probably the only downfall..
