Body parts are only available at dealerships. Engine and mechanical parts are interchangeable with Toyota so they are available everywhere. You can use clutch master cylinder from gli, steering rack from passo etc.

Headlights and tail lights are for around 13k. Bumpers are for 7k. Side mirrors are 6k for a pair. Complete doors are 45k. Airbags are for 100k. Fenders are for 9k. Front fog lights for 5k. Oil and air filter are somewhere around 500. These are the prices I know of. In my opinion, the prices are cheaper than genuine body parts prices of other brands. As I remember a friend who got Mehran's original air filter from Suzuki for 1800 a few years back.

Agreed. Parts are very cheaper than other brands. Fog lights of wagonR are available for 22000 Rs

@dani.786 for japani cars the main advantage is that we find tons and tons of body and engien parts of all types/categories/models in scrapyards. so car maintenance is not an issue at all even if you own a 25 year old car. this is a major plus point. otherwise dealerships are looters to an insane extent. as mentioned abovr that WagonR fogs for 22k and mehran air filter for 1800! i mean wtf. kya Made in Mars hota hai kya kuch jo itna mehenga

As per my understanding it is safe to wash with fuel like diesel etc.

Ideally, there are special degreasers that are used to clean the engine bay. But if that is not available, then petrol or diesel is used here generally.

fuel (petrol or diesel) are corrosive and will damage the wiring. better way to clean engine is just to cover up the ecu, coil and fuse box area with a cloth and then use non-pressurized water to clean the dust out. or better yet, just go to any filling station and get the engine bay cleaned by air..

Agreed. Diesel does more harm than good

Yes of course. I was just mentioning that these fuels are used here instead of the degreasers.

Build quality of FAW V2. The damage done by a dumper which hit and then dragged the car into the green belt.

Salam. I want to take suggestion from V2 owners. I need help deciding between V2 and Passo. Since after recent price increase it is priced almost near Passo. What makes you prefer buying V2 over similiar category JDMs?

Price of v2 is 1,150,000 i guess.. a 3.5 or above grade unregistered low milage passo with authentic auction sheet cannot be found in this price.. it costs more than 14 lakh..
If i had the budget of passo then surely i would have gone for it.. only reason of preference being the auto transmission. Its a torture to drive manual car in the evening timings on lahore roads..

If you have the budget to buy passo, go for it. No matter how good v2, passo has the advantage of being automatic.
Waise abhi bhi price difference hai dono mein, about 2-3 lac. As you can see from the post above yours, the car has proved it's better built quality. Just be sure to verify the auction sheet while buying a Japanese car.

I sold a JDM 660cc to buy a V2. I already have a Vitz at home. The following points led me to buy V2.

• New car. I was fed up of the little issues that come up in used cars. I didn't want to get into them. No matter how well maintained a car is, if it is used, it will have a few issues. The current owner knows those issues as normal and they don't bother him. When you buy that car, you don't know those issues and they will bother you. It might even be a matter of preferences. I didn't want to get in to the trouble of fighting with mechanics about how to diagnose an issue when I myself don't know the history of that issue.

• More power. The V2 has more power as compared to a Passo. Owing to the manual transmission, which also provides this power whenever you require, you have more control. The Vitz I have didn't have this luxury. Sometimes, this power is required for overtaking, or for some straight away driving pleasure. At other times, you need power when the car is fully loaded. I didn't like my car to feel sluggish when loaded, which happens quite some times. V2 is still faster than most passenger cars in Pakistan when fully loaded with 5 people on board and luggage in the trunk.

• Manual transmission: I am one of those nutjobs who prefers control over ease of use. I like to be in control of the car I am driving, so I prefer manual transmission cars.

• Bigger boot space: The V2 has the biggest boot space in hatchbacks available in Pakistan. It's boot space is significantly bigger than the other cars of this class. Swift has a boot space of 210L, Vitz first gen 210L, second gen 254L and third gen 284L, Passo has 250L, while the V2 has a boot space of 320L.

• Dealership support: It was not that big of a game changer, but it did have an impact. If I know that there is a dealership out there which knows how everything is supposed to be in case of an issue. It gives a little bit of peace of mind.
