FAW V2 Owner's Review

Salam. I want to take suggestion from V2 owners. I need help deciding between V2 and Passo. Since after recent price increase it is priced almost near Passo. What makes you prefer buying V2 over similiar category JDMs?

First of all, I don't think you will be able to get a good conditioned Passo in the budget of 10-12 lac. Secondly, Passo is so sluggish that at times you wish to bang your head with the steering wheel when you really need power, acceleration & control but you can't get it. Thirdly, the back seat of all hatchbacks in general and Passu & 660cc JDM in particular is pathetic or rather I should say horrible. About the build quality, both cars' interior is of toy like plastic. However, as far as I have seen , all JDMs of 1000c & below are of disposable nature; you won't see a single JDM in good health & shape that has been driven more than 5yrs on Pakistani roads.

The good things about Passo; you get lots of features & good fuel economy.

All the features of passo are present in V2, except for the automatic transmission.

Only if FAW had an auto V2 in price of a manual Cultus, I'd have bought it right away. Lahore's evening traffic has gone so bad that driving a manual is a pain in the ass for ppl like me who already get their whole stamina drained out during the day and the only auto option we get in this price range are used JDM 660ccs that are expensive to maintain, if FAW launches it atleast one willl have the surety of official support from company no matter how avg that is.

You will only be able to get a used Passo which has seen a few thousand kms action in Pakistan. Its not advisable to buy a JDM car which has seen 25k of Pakistan action. So in that sense, Passo and V2 cannot be compared on price point.

Bought V2 and overall its best in its category.
Problem i am currently facing is of very hard clutch pedal, and very hard brake pedal.
Currently its 550km driven only but my WagonR's brake and clutch was smooth & soft from the start.
1. Does FAW V2 have the Hydraulic Brake System? it doesn't seem so
2. While pushing accelerator of the vehicle, it doesn't pick the race softly where you left it. There is a slight jump in the acceleration.

Any of you faced the same issues? If so, then how did you resolve them

V2 has brake booster installed. It is a fairly common feature and is installed in everything except the Mehran. However, the brake calibration is a little different from what we are accustomed to. Overall force on the brake pedal is the same, but it goes a little more down to apply brakes. I am not sure why that is. Overall, the braking system is really good, and I have never felt like it won't stop.

As for the clutch pedal, get it checked, it might need some adjustment.

I am not sure what you mean by "jump in acceleration". Is this by any chance due to the fact that V2 has better acceleration?

I mean it has great acceleration. But on lighter foot, it should smoothly increase the speed. For example in a traffic jam, where you have to go inch by inch, it should go smooth to be safe, but that sudden jump in speed feels abnormal.

First of all, I belong to Sahiwal but living in Lahore and I financed it through HBL by paying 40% down-payment.

Ex-Factory Price, Rs.11,19,000 + Filer Tax Rs. 25,000 + Freight Charges Rs.15,000 + Registration Cost Rs.38,000 = Rs. 11,97,000

Now come to the accessories

Seat Cover 6.4 Meters Velvet Cloth, Foaming, Labour = 3400+2000+3000= Rs.8400
Tint Paper & Installation = 250 + 200 = Rs.450

Isn't the factory price 1154000? When did you book it? And after how much time did you receive the delivery?

I booked it on 2nd April, and got it delivered on 27 April after all the proceeding of bank. Otherwise my car reached at dealership on 15th of April.
I got at old rate because i put my case through HBL at first week of march.
