V2 after sunday detail
@fmkiani....Brother do you hear sounds in back of car like if cultus or mehran is driven few thousand kilometers it starts making sounds?? my odo is near 3 thousands and i can hear a faint sounds from the back on bumpy roads?? ur suggestion please

Iam thinking of financing car in range of 10 lacs ......I have to keep car for long duration
Extensive searching i reached to conclution that there are only two options
1. FAW V2
2. Suzuki Wagon R
As technical personal, i convinced myself that FAW V2 is far btter then then Wagon R as wagon r lack features and also i expect same build quality.....But the thing that bother me alot is that i use to vist many places and i started observing that i see alot of wagon r on roads which clearly shows that people are buying this but very rearly saw FAW ....What is the reason for this ??????

FAW is a new entrant in passenger car business. their trucking business is booming but not necessarily their cars will be hot cakes too. suzuki is an established brand - even if they start selling 3wheeler rickshaws for a million rupees, that too will sell like hot cakes. FAW could be definitely better than Cultus, Wagon R in all aspects.but again. the practical aspects are that if you want even the most general of part like air filter, you will have to go to their 3s and pay whatever they will ask you - unlike the suzuki parts which are available at even paan shops (as we say in fun). also, people already have bad experiences with Mitsubishis, Nissans, Kia, Hyundai who came, marketed their vehicles, sold plenty of them and then disappeared for always leaving behind zero after sales, technical staff and spare part availability. reason is, i saw a Lancer parked at a mechanic who said its air filter box is broken and nowhere to find exact match in whole Karachi!

so, if you are wanting a best package and prepared to be pareshan for spares and resale, then skip WagonR/ cultus and buy a V2!

You haven't mentioned safety aspect here which is very important in my view. The degree of safety difference made by airbags is enormous. Google and read it online. Airbags are lifesavers

Don't forgot all Paksuzuki assembled car (other than wagonr) are obsolete and Pakistan is the only place where ravi,bolan,cultus,mehran are being assembled and dumped.

and the life saver part is important too but maybe not too much followed here in paki. almost none of drivers wear seat belts! even our corollas and citys are without airbags. that doesnt make them less safer. its more of an add-on. we see Mercedes/BMWs/Ferraris and what not on roads of West and Middle East and they have so high fatal road accident rates. practicality here in paki is for availability of parts. i own a Liana and believe me i get its parts from each and every body part shop just because its a paki car and by suzuki. although it is not as common as Mehran,Alto,Cultus.

So my brother's V2 arrived and here are some of the observations after driving it around a bit:
Pros:
1. Good quality compared to local assembled stuff, last time I drove a new swift I was dismayed at the pathetic quality of everything in it, from the door handle ki karak to ac compressor going khirch when engaging every time and a lot more speaking of the pathetic quality.
2. The drive is pretty good, can't ask for more in this segment
3. Front seats are really comfortable, rear ones are just ok
4. Features, loads of them. Specially the adjustable headlights is quite some fun
5. The headlights are pretty powerful and provide such a good and clear vision that I was left quite impressed.
6. No low quality tires to replace like in most local cars, no security system to install, no fazol sound system to replace. Full package
7. The fordable warning sign to put in the road in case the car is parked at a side was a surprise, the local assemblers do not even provide a decent toolkit
8. Front and rear fog lights, good stuff. While driving inside the colony there was no need of the headlights given the visibility provided by them
9. I liked the overall paint finish, time would tell if it fades like that of local cars specially the red color
10. Nippy engine, expecting really good economy from it

Cons:
1. What I really really missed was an adjustable steering, with so many extra features in this car it would not have been asking for much right. The position of the steering it quite high, would have loved to have it much lower
2. Only one key has remote entry option, the second one is a plain key. I might be wrong here, this is what I saw when the car came and I didn't bother verifying it
3. The indicators being on the left wasn't much of a hassle for me, another ride in the house already is this way i.e. chevrolet

Overall : Really good value for money, nothing else comes close by even adding several lacs more. Dual airbags, ABS + EBD and what not. If there is no eminent need to dispose of the vehicle in years to come, this is the best bang for the buck as far as new cars are considered.

Was this car worth it that you can take risk of 10 million which in my lifetime i can manage once only ........
Honest opinion with some realistic analysis is requested .....
Second you can see the production graph which clearly shows that wagon r sale has increased ....... Was this reason is sufficient to buy this

with this logic suzuki is selling more cul-thus and bolan compared to wagon R, so will you keep preferring cultus over a 1300cc fully loaded v2 in same price? obviously resale shuld not be everything and if you are not aiming to change your ride in next 5 years then i think quality becomes superior then resale.

Keeping resale to one side (as iam planning to use car at least 5 years )

Can someone owing the car, and used car for some time brief me on following points
1. Iam using cultus and major problem is the crappy sound.Can i safely assume after using 50 K this car will not make crappy sounds

1. How much it is rigid / reliable on bumpy roads (as i have to go to village sometimes)

2. Will the car hit underneath or its lifted enough as compare to cultus (tires are big)

3. I live in abbottabad where there is no 3G dealer.....so whether i always have to run for Islamabad or there are somethings which i can manage from local market

4. How is the response of dealer if incase of any issue
   Looking forward fro your view .....

I have been following this thread since @fmkiani made it. My main observation about this thread is that most of the people in this thread are not current owner of Faw v2. I can only spot less than 10 owners in this thread. This does not mean that Faw v2 is not getting sold. It means it is being bought by mango people and not by people like me who are shoqeen and think way too much before making a decision.

So i will, from time to time will take pictures of fawv2 on road and will post them here. I will also collect faw v2 pictures posted by owners in different forums and will post them here. This will lighten up the thread and also give people an idea about sales figure of the car
