my TPS sensor is weird!

if i aim for even a 0.6volts reading at VTA at fully closed throttle, i also get battery voltage at IDL (which should be zero at closed throttle). Weird haina?

so iv set it to 0.5volts @ VTA @closed throttle, at this therez zero volts at IDL.

it does seem to idle at 900rpm for now...proper test hoga wen i drive it again tomorrow....fingers crossed again!!

they're way too expensive. like the guy was asking 180k for 1zz (taken from premio) and 130k for 1nz....ideally i wanted a 1nz but then that was too expensive.

rpm still falling to 500 sometimes

one thing i noted today is that as long as wheels are in motion, neutral gear, idle rpm stays b/w 700-900rpms. but as soon as vehicle come to a halt that rpm falls to 500....whyyyyyyyy??? tps error?

180K for a 1zz - (was it shiny brand new - and comes with a hot chick to install it for you)

I bought two older style 1ZZFE (cable throttle) from shershah complete, one auto one manual, both for 200K (at that time no-one wanted them) - and put them into EE100 series indus corolla, the only major difference is - you need a different fuel pump setup (no return line), a different exhaust and the engine temperature sensor for the dash from your older engine. The rest is not that difficult to work with, agreed that the wiring is far more than your A series but workable given some time and pondering over the wiring schematics

its the "pondering" these guys simply wont do! if i were in karachi i would've definitely asked you to help out with a 1zz swap...why dont you start swaps in isb/rwp via videoconference calls

i drove engine hard today. at full throttle in 2nd gear going from 2k rpm trying to redline the engine....it starts missing around 4k rpm and just wont go above 5k rpm...definitely fuel supply issue.

100% fuel issue I had same problem when the pump was installed incorrectly even the pathan i bought engine from had a test run and he had a 5 mins argument with wiring guy in pastho saying you did some thing wrong engine is not rev correctly In the end i said let me go guys its 8 and i am late but than when i got fuel of like 500Rs problem solved as the pump got more fuel to work with.

BTW today I set my TPS.

As Ser recomended I did it with ohm meter and set the TPS VTA at 0.35 at idle. But this made my rpm jump hmm it seems the mechanic didnt install the tps correctly so i removed it and adjusted the rpm to 900. I drove my car all day and it behaved much much better than before the rpm stayed at 900 even with electrical load

Got ma A/c Fixed. Installed paralel flow (MULTI FLOW) condensor inplace of original serpentine one to improve cooling and reduce load from engine.

Old Condensor. I am selling it if anyone wants it. Its in good condition not leaking though dirty but fins are all good.

Doing ZZ swaps is the same as swapping an A series, and results are far smoother, quieter, more torque and long life (relative to how you maintain your engine)

You guys are lucky that you get uncut wirings, because the usual swaps I did had zero wiring. had to make a new harness from scratch. Its not that difficult if you understand how they thought when making it.

I Got Like full engine wiring but no wiring you say...firewall cut........!! its harder to make it work then the scratch one (A) although......as these people gonna use these on CNG...so i don't think Z-gen makes that diff......!! they are better but as you compare price power and performance ratio along with swap hassles and all...!!

i think i should get the fuel pump replaced...any ideas on whether new pump or kabli pump? whats the cost for either? brands?

Thats how my RPM is behaving.

Saturday - Morning. Start up RPM 1300. (Cold)
Warm - 800.

Sunday - Startup 1300 Cold
Warm - 800
Evening 500

Today. Startup 1500.
Warm - Stayed at 1300

Engine turn off and ON RPM got to 600

After few mins. its 900.

Car turn off and started again. RPM 600.

BATT Pinout is LIVE still these. problems.

I mean how can you adjust some thing that during adjustments start working fine than these problems comes back.

BTW i couldent find IDL Pinout on my ECU hmm

is ko dekhnay se pata nai chal raha if this is the wire in question or not! you gotta see both front n back n then try trace out the wire....

my idle rpms behave very very odd too...if you disconnect tps sensor it goes to a flat 800rpm no matter what. when tps is connected it starts to falter and go to 500rpm...

today found out another interesting fact, moving car sideways (gari hila raha tha) and rpm went from 500 to 700 for a moment, then back down....i mean, wtf???

Yaar I tried to set TPS at 0.35. today i set it at 0.58 and intrestingly rpm got better it was jumping up and down like 500 than 800 than 900 than 500 lol some time calm at 800 . Some day it likes 0.35 others high.

BTW i cant hear any vacuum leaks. Any tips for checking vacuum?

Not yet i was searching online and saw two or more posts where people said this is the spd signal wire so i was just confirming from Ahsan.

The pulse will be in voltage or ohm how do i check from Multieee meter

check voltage while rotating it ...match stick can be used...

I finally set the tps using resistance method. at fully closed throttle it measures 0.31k ohms...Idling for the most part was very good today (mashallah!!!). but WOT resistance of the sensor was measuring at 2.7k ohms i think. Isnt that too low?

Now i set it back to 54 ohms. BTW what exactly is the position of your tps now? Mine is at the middle.

BTW you are having these rpm issues on petrol or CNG also? Mine some time its on both but mostly on cng I guess i also need to get the warm water pipes to cng kit.

i dont have cng connected yet! its giving me 12kmpl with my style of driving...including thoz full throttle tests hehehe
