e.g. as the plastic manifold Honda D engine does not have an idle adjustment like the TB on modern A series engines I had this car wheeled to me for high idle on petrol.

The CNG guys had drilled the the throttle plate - there was a HOLE in it.

I also had a 4 throttle towed to me as it was idling at 3500 rpms - (in all genius of the world someone had thought to service all 4 throttle bodies and messed up their calibration - one was sticking open about 10% and one was sticking at about 20% (causing the high idle) (they also had stuck a wooden piece into the ISCV port rubber pipe to block off the air supply.

The actual problem of idle speed adjustment and stumble on acceleration was because the person who wired it up forgot to connect the ISCV/O2 sensor/alternator switch positive circuit

If It was me.....i will ask the name of genius as for my labour charges.....and what i do then.......i also don't know :mad:

why the hell they think everything being good after cleaning it......!! i know how screwed up you are if you mess up with TB calibration......!! you need balancer later to adjust them nicely......!!

I watch a 20v which got wired on 1 injector pulse for all 4....he was like.."why u need 4....if one can operate 4 " and i was felling like killing myself that time.....!!

I remember that screw, its the screw I looked at for a good 15mins while servicing the throttle body, deciding the pros and cons of opening it or leaving it untouched
I decided to be minimally invasive, didnt touch it one bit.

ser - In know what you are referring to, If anyone recalls there is only one correct working 4AGZE corolla in Karachi. That car was brought to me dead and said - please do anything to make it work - It did work for about 2 months then just died, injectors flooding etc.

After taking out the entire cut/tape loom I saw no injector resistors for it. No wonder the ECU died - you cannot make an ECU trip 10 amps per pulse of injector. I just added a couple of 5 ohm 50W golden ones to the new wiring loom I made, repaired the ECU - and it was good after that.

Tying one injector lead to fire 4 injectors was in the old school toyota engines and also the charade GTti ECU (batch fire system) - take into consideration

now the 4AGE 20V uses nearly 12.5 ohm injectors = roughly 1.12 amp per injector driver circuit

4x12.5 ohm injectors = 3.125 ohms which is 4.48 amps on that one injector circuit (FAIL)

e.g. the 4AGZE uses 2.4 ohm injectors with inline resistors paired like the 4AFE - that means every injector circuit should be 2.24 amps (toyota standard)

no this weirdo who wired it up did not know anything - 2.4 ohm per injector multplied by 2 = 1.2 ohm per injector circuit which is about 11.6 amps (SWEET) - for sure the ecu's ghost left the box.

now who is to blame..

hmm most people conducting these swaps are not even educated or cant even read write properly you cant expect them to kno all these things. I mean people who understand these things or do this for there own interest dont want to get into this dirty business.

All good work shops or authorized dealers will not touch your car because its old 2ndly its not with its original engine so they dont want to start a project that will lead to more problems than easy solutions.

^^ WHY did you touch that screw - its locked into place for a reason. its the calibration point for the throttle blade and TPS. if you fiddle with it too much you will end up with a twisted throttle blade and shaft in the throttle body. The throttle blade is set from the factory for proper MAP signal, TPS and throttle plate angle taking into consideration of engine temperature too.

There is actually no idle adjustment screw on this engine (if you look at the original cars bonnet sticker that had this engine it also says no idle speed adjustment)

Ive seen all CNG shops in Karachi fiddle with that screw - and I literally want to shoot them.

A proper idle speed adjustment screw is the brass bleed screw that you see on older Toyota throttles

Should i fiddle with it one more time by goin by these instrution to sset it back? or leave it as it is

"the throttlebody "Stop screw" adjustment is simple. You want the throttle body to be as closed as possible without sticking. usually you can back the screw out till it doesn''t touch, Snap the throttle closed so it sticks and slowly turn the stop screw in till you hear the butterfly "pop" open.. lock the screw and test operation to make sure it doesn't stick after being snapped shut.. your TPS voltage should read .45-.50v on the signal wire

I do run a car service/tech business - and I used to have an open shop, till I started meeting our common zabardast qism ke pakistani bhai - fraud, fake currency, bad attitude, theft by customers (I caught them on camera) trying to return broken parts, busted new engines within 200 kms by running it on surf and water instead of oil - not my cup of tea sorry. So I changed it from open to contract. No more stupid idiots to deal with.

Lucky me that the workers I have were under strict control and faced little problems with them.

Later on I realised that the long sitting nationality thing should be used; as being Pakistani living in Pakistan is not safe anymore.

idling after tps adjustment is good for the most part. Rarely it just drops down to 500rpm but then manages to correct itself to around 700rpm.

I think i need to get those els pins wired up...Im gona connect the outputs of brake lights, headlights, blower fan, defogger to the els pin through a one-way diode for each circuit. Are there any particular specifications for the diodes i should use? Or should a 12volt, 10amp diode do fine?

Oh and I wana connect CF pin too...

BTW How do we test the ELS points? I had this in mind of connecting 9v batt positive to one of the ELS point and see if ECU gets heart atack or rpm raises

Oh i will definitely share dont you worry mate!

What i plan to do is
1. buy four diodes.
2. then one wire from each +ve of brake, headlight etc will go to a central collection point under the hood (haven't decided where n how).
3. put a diode in each wire so that when i switch on one thing, it wont try to supply current to all other things connected, and so dont blow any fuses....
4. from that central point I'll take a wire and connect it to the ELS wire.

Hmm Idea looks very nice :). BTW how many ELS points you saw on your ECU? I think i saw two. my pintouts one or two were different from yours.

my RPM on Petrol is Dead 900 from 2 days after all the fiddling with everything but as soon as i switch on head lights or brake light or cooling fan it drops to 700. or less.

So i want atleast my cooling fan and headlights to be connected to ELS.
