Great video Nabs, my crash was very similar but less intense. The airbags should have deployed. My point is that airbag did not deploy because of faulty or substandard SRS system parts which could be anything relays/spring coil/wiring which led to the initiation of fire. The fire started inside and then consumed the entire car. Honda should look into this life threatening problem CIVIC is carrying in its production.

I am least bothered about the car but I was hospitalized for 3 weeks for fractures/ deep wounds/ second degree burns & had 2 surgeries. Now I am in recovery process for another atleast 6-8 weeks. I wouldn’t want any single person in this world to feel the pain I have felt due to this fire accident as it is unbearable. Sad part is no one is willing to even reply to you from Honda Atlas nor any relevant authorities.

May Allah keep everyone safe and hopefully give some divine guidance to Honda Management as they are completely ignorant & rutheless.

I guess you are not getting the point. There is a possible manufacturing fault in new Civic model. They need to investigate and fix the issue. Thats it !! You start comparing Civic with other cars and what do we get for the buck ! This is not the idea to defend or backup Honda ...

There is a problem in Civic , Honda should fix it !!!!!
Don't want to fix it , then at least have a heart to respond to the customers who suffered because of their defected product ! And lets say there isn’t any problem in the car then atleast clarify and explain the reason so people drive their cars without a doubt.

There is no blame game here, just a word of caution for everyone driving Honda Civic till Honda has an answer for the fire & surely there had been other reported fire cases in the past as well.

As for my opinion on this matter, honda civic and grande are both shitty cars when compared yo international standards. Some say honda has issues, while others say toyota has. Truth is, all the cars produced in pakistan are substandard. Its not a toyota/honda debate.
The purpose of this kind man was to bring awareness to people to stay safe. Thats a noble thing. The airbag should have deployed, whoever said that the airbag sensors are in the front beam is wrong. I had a car that got into an accident from the right fender but the airbag deployed. This is clearly an airbag malfunction. The fire should not have started. These cars arent designed to catch fire like this. This was clearly a malfunction.
So please, stop the civic/grande debate. Both cars are substandard. This was a malfunction. Mlre importantly, the man is safe alhamdulillah and he posted this so others may be aware of such risks.

I am sure the culprit is the SRS system.
there is a chemical reaction in the that ignites some thing to produce large volume of gas to inflate the air bag.
now I think in this case, the ignition started fire.

Airbags should have been deployed in this kind of an impact. Sadly real world accidents arnt as ideal of a situation always as compared to controlled crash tests.

If the fire started inside the cabin it could be anything from a short circuit to a faulty SRS component. Must be investigated.

As for Corolla and its quality, I am driving that masterpiece since last 7 months for now. It belongs to a different Shit League.

I'm really sorry for your loss. This is because nobody cares of human lives here. Accidents do happen everywhere but this really hurts when we see this kind of injustice. I hope you could raise your voice through this medium to get justice and at least Honda Atlas accept their fault to resolve such issues in their cars. Very hard to believe a 60km/h collision would cause unconsciousness in an individual wearing a seatbelt and so called fractures and what not. This report doesn't show the kind of damage to the dummy in a similar test. Not to say that the fire hazard is strange and could be completely legitimate.

Feels like the SRS malfunctioned and started the fire.
Or maybe a ruptured fuel line.
But you say you saw the fire in the dashboard first. So whatever it is, it was inside the cabin.

Deltree : point of concern is not 60km/hr ... its the fire which is a strange phenomena which is caused most likely due to faulty SRS system. My injuries are mainly due to fire & rescue including fractures. Honda is hiding trying to save the face due to their faulty product. Not sure why they are running away trying to avoid to investigate the cause of fire. That raises alot of Q’s regarding poor quality Civic they are manufacturing here in Pakistan.

May Allah give you speedy recovery. The more we depended of electronics the more it creates hastle and mishaps. No company want to give you bad product delebratly. Accidents do happen but above of all you are live with no permanent damage is the silver lining. Take care.

Is each airbag (driver and passenger) tied to respective seatbelt or are both deployed if only driver seat belt is in use?

Bhai jaan was ur car insured? How are u now. If there was NO modification u shud take them to court or at least send legal notice. Otherwise these assholes will keep using sub standard stuff and put our lives in danger.

I personally own a corolla and seriously doubt if it is better than honda in pakistan.
