Can I ask everyone to share photos/details of FJ40 rollcages that you feel are good from a hardcore offroading and rally perspective. The Baja Edition of the FJ Icon is a starting point for the one that I am looking to do for an FJ40 project.

There are so many pics of great BJ/FJ40's in this thread that I think we should now talk about the FJ45 Troop Carrier. I loved the BJ40s from the 1st day I saw one as a kid. But an FJ45 Troopy is just something else, they are the most beautiful thing!
A couple of months ago I bought this genuine 1977 FJ45 softtop in Australia. They are pretty hard to find, it's the only one I have found in 2 years of intense TLC hunting in Oz. It's in great condition, all the rust you see is just light surface rust, no rot.
I have also attached a picture of Overlander magazine that put this very same car (same colour!) on the cover when the car was launched.

By the way, does anybody know where I can find a replica canvas soft top for it?

Hi everyone, after going through few threads i am so much inspired that i am seriously thinking of taking up a project and restore a FJ40 -2f (1984). I need your help in guiding me to right place. I have low budget so i want to get one of these directly from Army Auction, any idea when and where would it happen now. Also, if there is already a beast in your radar which can be bought under 250k ... thanks, looking forward to your kind responce.

Thanks Tareen, i found the colour and mods of your ride the most decent and attractive -- Please see your PM. Guyz i am sure this club can add alot to value to my efforts, so please come up with more options closer to Lahore, preferrably inside punjab. Also, very few Gurus seem to be from Lahore, so i need guidance for selecting an expert who can look into minute details and restore it for me.

Toyota Land Cruiser 1984 (FJ-40)
Petrol Engine 2f 4200cc (6cylinder)
Breaks drum (stock)
Diffs (stock)
Gear (4fwd stock)
Seats (stock military pattern)
Rims (15 inch) with dunlop radial tyres
Heater & Alpine deck
Dash board (stock)
Cng (Brand new Landerenzo kit with 55 size cylinder)
Carborator was altered & swapped with an R series Toyota engine which gives me 100km mileage per cylinder on local & 125-135 km per cylinder on highways...runs great on cng & recently had tours to snow covered Galiat & hunting tours to tala gang...its for sale as well asking price is 600k (slightly negotiable)

Its a 2010 army auction vehicle..and is still applied for registration..the IDB-1210 is a temporary number..
every system,lights,wiper washers & heater is working

Its a beautiful machine build with a very hard effort by putting all pieces together...one can check the building of this baby on the following thread

Seen one or two cruising around town in left hand configuration... but soon they might be appearing in right hand configuration, importing from Japanese islands... see what you think? your views?

@ Lyconian, brother this thread is dedicated to all 40 series cruisers. Please send your post to the correct place.

@ daudbros, i think the winch is wrongly fixed. It should have been inside the bumper to give you better flex while going down.

@ OffRoad, brother u said u want to contribute for this thread and in the same reply you have offered your cruiser for sale. I think you have already started a thread for it's sale, so would request you not to mix the things up. This thread is for the keen lovers of 40 series cruisers and not for those who are offering their beauties for sale. I hope u get what i am trying to convey.
