MK Kashiyama yellow box with purple print are leather (organic). MK Kashiyama blue box with yellow printing (name and logo etc.) are semi-metallic.
No matter what people may think, semi-metallic still provide the best braking for money (definitely those carbon-fibre ceramics Ferrari use are better but they are $4000 a set, too). They don't cause as much rotor wear as some people claim.
MK pads (the ones called carbon locally and semi-metallic technically) will provide shorter stopping distance than OEM NAO ones, greater rotor wear, lesser pad life, and will be cheaper in the process. It isn't an easy choice.
An independent retailer will never have NBK genuine replacement parts on sale. NBK never sells to spare parts dealers. They only sell to car manufacturers. I've done some work on NBK brake pads. Instead of me copy-pasting, please visit it here (read the entire post, especially the 6th para). Also, some other info about MK can be found here.
@hash4u,
As per my info, Nissin does not manufacture brake pads. They manufacture other brake components such as slave cylinders, calipers etc. mainly for Honda (they're a subsidiary of Honda), but I've seen Nissin brand slave cylinder for Bolan too (It may be made in Nazimabad and fake, but still, that's what I saw: Nissin). If you are 100% sure Baleno factory-fitted pads are Nissin, plz provide the model number (just like I've done in that cultus post). This would surely help.
UPDATE: Nissin Brake (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nissin Kogyo, which in itself is a subsidiary of Honda indeed makes brake pads in collaboration with JBT (Japan Brake Industrial Co., Ltd. as seen here. However if products in this brand name are factory-fitted by Atlas Honda remains to be seen.
@OP,
Why don't you go for Nippon. They are pretty decent (but they are semi-metallic/carbon).
