let me relate it to a car.

when you buy a car - you get "government papers" that prove that it was legally imported/assembled and was sold to you and you are the rightful owner.

Would you buy a car that the seller says - there are no papers but here is a certificate saying its ok to drive.

there are millions of people in Pakistan who dont know the ABC of buying property and rely on real estate agents to tell whole truth, which they dont as selling bahria nets them a huge amount of commission.

What about those who claims that they have bought it successfully?

It means that they have allotment letter, as well as possession letter, i.e. plot is ready for construction, and all necessary utilities / facilities (like road, electricity, sewerage system, water supply lines, etc.) have been successfully provided.

Despite all this, no doubt, aapko ghar sey koi nai nikalay ga, but that plot, etc. will always remain property of Bahria Town.

Secondly, no bank gives loan for Bahria Town; be it for house construction, purchase of property in it, etc.

Only Escorts Bank ( https://escortsbank.net/ ) gives loan, but again, it is, sort of, Bahria Town subsidiary, and interest rates are very high.

Since no bank gave loan to Bahria Town, that bank's purpose was to give loans for construction, but at high interest rates.

Bahria has took money and changed allocation of lots/plots - because the land they are building on is either wrongly owned or is part of some riverbed or is just not leased from the govt at all.

And Bahria never give you true ownership of the land either, I asked about this specifically from an agent selling the bahria manjann very hard - he replied that its not their policy. LOL

I just shared my experiences yesterday regarding my observations in Karachi, and thread has derailed towards Bahria Town, Karachi.

Hopefully, it will spread towards all Bahria Towns, and ultimately, everyone might be frustrated with life altogether! (let alone be any specific city)

Im just amazed that its common civic knowledge abt buying property and yet many people turn a blind eye on it.

same with khudadad colony mechanic shops showing private sublet papers of the plots - which actually were not even commercial - LOL - how stupid can one be!

or the split up larger houses I saw in Karachi, I asked the agents or "builder" if the addresses actually existed in the city master plan or in the GPO? - those agents usually hated me for asking these questions rather than be impressed by the "maadrann bathroom and amricann kitchann along with parsalein (porcelain) tile floors

So if you have a plot in e.g. DHA Islamabad, you have it only for 99 years?

That's for every property, not just DHA. Lease is renewed typically after 99 years.
